Same.

I feel like the people here are way more open for discourse, which makes it a lot less scary to voice your thoughts.

Still haven't posted anything though, I'm not a conversation starter, but rather a participant. XD

Always leave it to the actual users to find any bugs you didn't think of, lol.

Actual Josh from "Let's game it out" energy.

When my then senior dev left and made his own company and asked me if I'm willing to go on a bumpy ride with him.

I'm currently Employee Number 3 (the other 2 before me beeing the owners) and am happier than in any other odd job I had.

The company we left doesn't really look that good right now, but they are backed by a gigantic mother company.

Game itself is a ton of fun. If you and your friends just want to learn the game you can just print out the cards, no problem. Or if you want real^TM^ cards you can get a starter kit with 2*60 card decks for about 10-15$ from your local game store. (Or amazon if you are in a remote area with no Game Stores.) They are not the best decks, but they are balanced to each other and the cards are simple enough for new players to navigate.

Better Magic Cards do mostly 2 or 3 things at once and can combo with others or are just great by themselves. Not that worse Magic Cards can't combo or anything, they just need more setup or can be a bit niche in their usefulness.

Destiny 2: The new season feels fantastic.

"eliminate" is such a strong word, when "be better than" or "have more market shares" is probably the realistic take.

Seriously Playstation has it's heels dug so deep into the market it'd be quite difficult to actually drive them out. Even with the Microsoft-ABK Merger.

I used to do the same, with the exact piece of software, when I was a contractor for a big enterprise that didn't give me sh*t to do.

Even after asking multiple times for some assignments and integrating myself into the daily standups, manager meetings and made myself "part of the team" as much as possible, they didn't use me or my skills.

So naturally I went Eff that and just didn't care anymore. Whenever someone had an assignment for me to do, I'd get the job done in no time and go back to "busy idling"

Seems like avoiding context switching and all the overhead associated would make a big difference when pretty much everything in cache is critical data.

It's not. Like the commenter above said: It's a fraction of the task at hand. Especially when you design the rest of the system to run only if necessary. Context Switches are what? like 50 CPU Cycles? Store Registers, Store TCB, Load other TCB and load other register states jump back to PC. Maybe some other OS Shenanigans, but that's basically it.

Now Imagine complex calculations on a 25-Dimensional Matrix.

30, german, yes I can, no I do not. I drive a hybrid, so no manual transmission.

Skyrim can almost be modded like Skyrim SE, so that's a huge plus. There are also VR specific mods that give you a more natural VR feel, like HIGGS (Haptic Overhaul), VRIK (giving you a body) and PLANCK (gives you the ability to interact more freely and directly with your environment) This definitely gives Skyrim the VR feel that it needs.

Having something like VR Weapon Throw also gives you a lot more options to play the game, adding thrown weapons and semi-medieval firearms. They don't make a lot of sense canonically, but the added gameplay value is tremendous.

Another Idea is to add a couple of "Survival Mode" mods, to make it truly immersive. Speaking of Immersion, you definitely should install as much graphical overhauls as your PC can handle, especially for NPCs and Items. You can handle muddy textures in the forest, but it's not pleasant to speak to a muddy textured face. Or looking at a sword that's just a blob of grey and shiny.

This was the Car ferry from Konstanz to Meersburg. I have the privilege to commute on this ferry every morning and afternoon.

I'll try to capture a clear day when you can see the Alps in the distance.

Those are the ones for me. Yeah turned 30 this year as well. No Autism (probably) but have ADHD.

Programming is my job, so I don't define that as a hobby 😅

I personally love the feel of the MoYu RS3M MagLev. And I think it was like 15 bucks.

And don't be afraid to go to chinese distributors like ziicube.com Saves a lot of money by going directly to the source and buying in bulk if you can, to alleviate shipping cost.

But that's PS5 VR exclusive, OP said he had a Quest 2 and I believe the VR Patches for PC are still quite janky.

I spun this up just today and had no issues whatsoever. Just a bad aftertase because the AIO package creates and manages other containers on the host, I'd love to have more control over those as well. But for the sake of comfortability I'll just have to accept that. And it truly works out of the box!

Thanks! I'm not really a photographer and this was done by my cellphone, but I really liked how it turned out. It was much more stunning in reality though. 😅

I as well feel more engaged in every fediverse community I'm part of.
I've even been tooting on mastodon, when I don't even have a twitter. It's fascinating how a welcoming community can make you feel at ease.

Can I add Mods? Then Skyrim VR.

If I can't, I'd choose a Game as a Service type of deal, if we could also make the assumption that the game would also be actively developed for the rest of my life.
Destiny 2 comes to mind, because I really love the lore and the gameplay.

If we can't add mods or the game won't be updated for the rest of my life, I'd still choose Destiny 2. After it gets cancelled, I'd just go outside and touch grass then, I guess. 😅

I go to the gym 3 times a week to prevent any kind of injuries like back pains, obesity or carpal tunnel. Before I started I was nearing the "severe obesity" bmi value and had constant back pains. Getting fitter decreases risk of illness and injuries.

As for the repetitive motions. I have ADHD so I'm always moving some parts of my body. :/

Also some kind of Machinery. "GameMachine" for my Xbox "BigMachine" for my PC "MiniMachine" for my Phone "MicroMachine" for my Pi

Except my small 2-in-1 Laptop. That's "decepticon". Because it's an Asus Transformer Book.

Really? It feels like there's a new komga version every other day 😅

Will definitely go and check out Kavita tomorrow.

What made you use Kavita over komga? This is only the second time I've read about Kavita, so I'm quite curious for any user experience.

I'm currently setting up a new server and used Komga until now, but I'm willing to switch.

I usually cut down on domain/DNS cost by using a free dynamic DNS service called duckdns. It works super well, provides Let's Encrypt support and sub-sub-domains. (for example your could have https://git.$username.duckdns.org)

I've found as a IT noob that Caddy 2 provides as much "batteries inside" and "boiler-plate free" to support me, because I have no Idea what I'm doing. So I just let caddy handle my encryption and reverse proxy to my actual server.

I'm an embedded software dev, who only discovers ethernet protocols on a surface level, because we hadn't need it yet in previous projects, so I'm a bit lost on how to do cloud stuff. So having all these great tools for free for me to try out and connect from outside to my media servers and stuff is awesome!

As usual his code might be a great thing, but his pretentious attitude is still shit.

"Ah yes look at me I have written, oh my dare I say, some ASSEMBLY honhonhonhonhonhon"

That this is a big thing seems wild to me.

Assembly isn't such a big thing, some devs use it daily (Hello to my embedded devs out there) so why is this worthy a news article?

I know. He's a legend. And I respect his work. He doesn't need to brag.

And yet he does.
