100% agree!!

I've never used the term and the first time I've heard about it even without knowing the origins/meaning it already was clear to be a pejorative term.

The excuse the mods in the old r/unixporn subreddit was that the term was broadly accepted by the community.

Well guess what we are not reddit and one of the reasons I left reddit was because I was tired of being in communities like that. We can do better, let's shape our communities with the right values and not just carry on a legacy that should've died with reddit itself.

But I am confused. Anyone offended for using the word?

When repos changed to main from master, I got problems.

People are hypersensitive over these words now.

Well that's easy to say when you are not part of the affected group.

I;m not gonna discuss your point about comedians because honestly that sounds nonsense to me, however the only reason I'm replying to you is because there is a keypoint in your comment:

I am an Asian living in Asia. And I wouldn’t know the racism encountered by someone over other continents.

This very much is why you may not see why this is an issue, if you truly are an Asian living in Asia you didn't grow up not have experienced life as a minority group, let me tell you that despite whatever origins a person may have I'm pretty sure that every Asian person that lives in a western country could relate with the underlying racism towards them ingrained in a way that every time they try to bring this issues up they are dismissed as they were not possible of being victims of racism because a lot of Asians are successful or they skin light or whatever bullshit reason.

There is whole problematic and systematic about this and although I have my own opinion and experiences I will not expand further as I am also not an academic, I can only speak for myself.

I've sent you a private message before, about these discussions, and I offer again, if you need help I'd like to offer myself for the position, you can already see what my opinions are on this subject in previous posts. Feel free to send me a message if you wanna chat before. Cheers.

Well having a dedicated /home partition is the very minimum and pretty much default.

If you are interested in having a backup/restore solution for your system you are looking for BTRFS which uses sub volumes instead of primary partitions and is compatible with snapshot tools, those tools being Timeshift and Snapper.

I do think Snapper is the superior solution however it's also more complex to set up and requires significantly more prep work. Imo totally worth it.

I currently use it on my main machine Debian with BTRFS and Snapper and couldn't be happier.

What about just "Dots" or "Dotfiles", after all these are the main components that we share or seek in these posts.

Or "Toast", not gonna expand on that I just like how it sounds funny.

Netflix ready to hire writers who purposefully despise the game and think it's too hard and that games should be easier with spoon fed story telling.

How many IPs are they going to destroy?

From Deb 7 to 11 I used XFCE, since it's been a long time I decided to check it out the state of GNOME with the 12 upgrade, despite a few annoyances, to my surprise GNOME is actually great and by far the easiest entry point to a painless wayland set-up.

Everything else you can find on gnome-looks.

Extensions = [Blur my shell, covertflow alt tab, date menu formatter, default workspace, gradient top bar, just perfection, remove app menu rounded window corners, tactile, user themes, workspace indicator]

Thats it, hmu if I forgot something.

Not FOSS at least for now, but still very nice, love the customizations and the video player is a nice feature.

The admins are finally upgrading to bookworm

That's not the question that needs to be answered, first you must allocate enough space for you system partition, and whatever other system related partitions that you want to use, var, temp, swap, you get the gist, then whatever space you have left is your home partition. This scenario being a default personal use desktop ofc.

If this is going to be a BTRFS system then it also doesn't matter since sub volumes share the total space available dynamically.

Also if this is a modern hardware consider not having a swap partition and instead use ZRAM.

Yup, working fine here.

It's fine. "Only 27GB" is hardly too small for the system, even a bloated system wouldn't take that much space.

But if you must have a larger partition I think a reinstall would be easier, resize the partition is possible but because of the encryption not a straight forward thing. I wouldn't bother really.

Nevermind, my question was already answered itt

This one?

Or check the repo for the walls, it's made to work with the light/dark modes of GNOME.

Also the art is from Ikhimaz.

Thank you, it was a lot of work and I wanted to escape from the grayscale themes.

Is the canvas compatible to any of the mobile apps?

Ah I see, fuck speX is using the old muskAROO tactics to claim somebody else works as he's own. What a pathetic simulation we are in lmao
