Checkmate, consumer.

Or the oil industry hiring economists to refute other economists conclusions when it comes to damages from oil spills (see Exxon Valdez)

Maybe this?

Every instance of every such component was already running in a separate thread, but now they can actually run in parallel.

Three gaming-focused Linux operating systems beat Windows 11 in gaming benchmarks

Arch is a gaming-focused Linux OS now lmao

Google will expand billing options for in-app purchases and simplify direct app downloads from developers.

Sounds like a win actually. Nice.

Imagine not reading anything and thinking you know everything. Lmao. Yikes.

I expect nothing less from someone whose profile picture is an anime child smelling feet.

Kipf then “infiltrated” other states’ death registry systems using credentials stolen from other people to infiltrate private businesses, government and corporate networks (allegedly the booking systems of a number of hotel chains), and then tried to sell access to the networks to potential customers online.

I was just in Hawaii a few weeks ago. Both touristy and non-touristy areas. I can concur, would be a weird ass vibe if I saw someone open carry

Yup! They have what they call sync. Works the same I believe: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/sync/

I would pay for YouTube Premium, like I had been when I was a student ($7.99/month), but I'm not a student anymore and they want $19 a month. Fuck no.

People act like you can't just order these kinds of windows in the US. It's not the default, but you can just ask about them if you know about them.

We have also seen the budget range improve in quality and affordability. There will always be cheap junk TVs and overly expensive TVs, but that midrange, where most people buy, has become rock solid. There just isn’t much region to upgrade at the moment.

And they specifically want to see the picture of you on the back.

Well if the law includes a clause that hedge funds need to sell of their assets, then flooding the market like that may bring down prices. However it could also trigger a bubble burst in the housing market. I’m interested to see how this is concerned

This is a cry for help haha, you poor soul

That explains it. No one does this out of the goodness of their hearts. It’s either a tax write off or avoiding CoL adjustments.

There’s someone at my work who really needs to see this…

💀

Because my new intel integrated graphics cause Wayland to run like a slideshow.

Totally agree. I also knew this was Google's modus operandi. The early versions of their software can be amazing and they slowly monetize over time.

Exactly. Instagram doesn’t claim ownership to any of your content, but Instagram's terms of use state that the user grants Instagram a non-exclusive, fully paid, and royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to use their content. Additionally, they can make money off your content without ever paying you a cut. Honestly, it’s pretty boiler plate at this point. No one should expect anything else from corporations.

Love it so much this straight up sounds like an advertisement

You've got a lot of responses already, but as a business owner, I highly recommend not taking risks like this when you first start out. You don't ever want technical problems like word documents not opening correctly to mean the difference between getting your work done and spending time working on... well, not work. This is why I've always advocated that Linux is great, especially for my home compute, but when it comes to work, it's about being the most effective/efficient.

Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for. I’ve found essentially less than 1ms of latency between my mini router and my landlord’s router and I’m very happy with that.

For sure, I’m just giving them a hard time with semantics haha

Just finished the Alan Wake Remaster. Really hated it, but apparently that is an unpopular opinion. I just felt like the story is not as innovative as people say and the mechanics are the same from the start to the finish.

I’m now playing Dredge. Really enjoying that game right now. I’m traveling so my Steam Deck is getting some use. I’ll be switching between Dredge and Cult of the Lamb while I’m away.

I think they’re looking for more a consumer perspective. Disney will probably sue for a breach of contract, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow ended up signing a TOS that allows Tesla to make changes whenever they want. From a consumer perspective, definitely legal to just remove an app. False advertising? Nah, when you buy the car/use the infotainment center, you’re agreeing to a TOS that requires you give your first born to the gigafactory they built.

Seriously though, it’s very standard practice that a TOS includes language that the service can change in quality at any given time with no warning.

What happened is what is subtracted from was divided by what could have been. If you know the integral of what could have bin then you can obtain the euclidean distance to what is and then you know what happened.

I appreciate the constructive response. The OCD aspect concerns me, but it seems in line with my behavior so I will investigate that further. In particular, I have access to a therapist through my work so that might be the next most logical step.

I agree that no technical environment is the end all, and I’m going to try and tap into that perspective next time this comes up.

Definitely possible. Here is a tutorial I've been using: https://superuser.com/a/7374

Yup, there have been countless attempts to paywall creator content but they always flop. The closest we have right now is offering video content through Patreon subscriptions, but creators know they can’t put their main content there because it would destroy their platform

I’ve tried several different approaches but the ISP locks the root account on the router but will change it to whatever you want if you call as the account holder.

This network is more private and secure and I don’t have to deal with my landlord. They probably wouldn’t be against it but they’re technologically illiterate and this is a better solution in my opinion.

Syncthing. Once you set it up, there is almost no going back. It doesn't pass through servers though so your backup machine also needs to be on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syncthing

Exactly. I hate when people lead off with that. It assumes their personal involvement in the war does anything other than make themselves feel less hopeless.

Yeah, it’s not like anyone bought a Disney + sub because it was available in the Tesla lol

Thanks for the response. I suppose that I don’t, but ever since Windows 11, I’ve been reluctant to consider dual boots. Maybe things have changed, but at the introduction of Windows 11, I had lots of issues with dual booting.

So in short, I just haven’t tried it in a while. My main concern is that I would just continue to switch back and forth and the workflow interruption would still exist in that form.

It's definitely a crutch for me. I've used exercise several times recently to give myself an attitude adjustment.
