I recommend reading One Nation Under God by Kevin Kruse. It’s a deep dive into the history of US capitalists intentionally corrupting evangelicals to serve capitalist political ideologies.

Remember to keep your heads buried in the sand! Look away from the horrors! Nothing to see here!!

Pointing out bad actors isn’t intended to win an argument.

Between her fighting to keep arming a genocide, fighting to withhold evidence that would’ve cleared defendants, and other crimes she’s committed in office, I think it’s clear that either way this goes we’re getting a president who does not believe they have to obey the law.

Either way, you’re supporting a criminal. I don’t think it’s expecting a lot asking a politician to follow the law.

Yes, unfortunately the corruption of US capitalists spreads its tendrils across the globe.

There are multiple anti-capitalist candidates running this election. But US media is completely corrupted, and gives them almost zero coverage. But kinda weird you said you didn’t know there’s any running, while commenting on an article about one of them.

K. Let me know when European countries stop acting as vassal states, and putting their interests after those of the US.

You're currently paying exorbitant energy prices, because the US & UK destroyed a critical pipeline, and the only people held accountable were those Europeans calling for an investigation into the terrorism.

I suspect they’re acting as controlled opposition to absorb activist energies. They’re openly shepherding activist voters to a capitalist party in this action.

I’m loving the lack of self-awareness. Trying to play both sides as if y’all love democracy, but losing your minds when anyone suggests any government that isn’t an oligarchy.

Either an astroturfer or bootlicker.

It’s really pathetic bootlicking of the ‘party elites,’ and obscenely undemocratic, to insist that there needs to be someone “in charge” to overrule the democratic choices of the party base.

The horrible shit she did while working those positions hurts her more than it helps. Trump’s problems don’t erase that.

She’s also openly declaring her intent to commit a felony when in office, by arming a genocide, which is one of the worst crimes a human being can possibly commit.

Billionaires also fall into the Gartner hype cycle. And convincing a billionaire there’s an opportunity to automate workers out of a job is a quick way to get an injection of cash.

It’s going to be generations before we are actually able to automate most labor. But long, long before that AI will be capable enough to replace overpaid CEO’s.

Trump became the GOP nominee in 2016 because the Clinton campaign claimed colluded to elevate him to the nomination in a “pied piper” strategy, because they believed he was the only candidate Clinton could beat.

The Dems continue this strategy still. They dump millions into the primary campaigns for far-right lunatics, because they don’t believe they can beat or differentiate themselves moderate republicans. And it’s not like this is a conspiracy- they openly defend this strategy.

Cobb County Police in Georgia got some bad press for this a few years back. An officer took a weekend course to certify he could tell when people were drunk or high, and then he ruined a bunch of innocent people’s lives.

Like he was forced to starve 500,000 Iraqi children?

The dems should’ve nominated Lina. I’d have voted for her in a heartbeat.

Worker owned co-op with CEO duties coordinated by an AI.

I'm convinced they're already collecting data for it. I can't think of any other reason for the massive drop in system performance on Windows 11.

That’s like saying ‘I would be a great candy store clerk, because I love eating sugary snacks.’ Eventually you end up sick or diabetic.

The human brain can only handle so much. While we all have different tolerance levels, we still have a breaking point. We’re just primates, after all.

Maybe. Or companies that are AI ran will outcompete the existing ones.

Both candidates support genocide. A binary choice would be an improvement from what we have now.

It’s really useful for churning out some basic code. For searching the web, it’s providing better results than Google these days.

And they don’t want to start a precedent of prosecuting politicians for threatening to or actually killing people. That would be bad for defense contractors.

Nothing in Harris’ record shows she’s qualified. She’s done a measurably shit job in every position she’s been in.

Even Dems agree Trump will likely pull out of Ukraine. Trump seems like his battle with China will be over tariffs, and less military-focused than the Dem Sinophobia. Though of course, Trump will also continue writing a blank check to Israel.

That’s two less escalation fronts with nuclear armed superpowers under Trump. The Dems are measurably closer to an extinction level threat.

But realistically we need to topple both capitalist parties to save humanity.

Work on those reading skills, bud.

I don’t care that she was threatened. I care that anyone would sympathize with her.

I care that anyone would feel any sympathy for that monster. They shouldn’t.

Stein pulling out wouldn’t result in more votes for Harris. It would just make more people stay home. I think they’re more worried about greens hitting the 5% national threshold.

Stop assuming these votes are stolen from Harris. She hasn’t earned them.

I was really surprised to see the election season bots here too. They really don’t want us talking to each other.

But I guess they’re not really hiding the panic now: https://www.baltimoresun.com/2024/10/07/hillary-clinton-warns-we-lose-total-control-without-social-media-content-moderation/

I don’t care that she was threatened. I’m confused that anyone would give a shit, after she’s spent her career devoted to death & destruction.

Not denying it. I just don’t care.

Our biggest problem is the ruling class are too far removed from consequences. They murder and steal on absolutely massive scales, and no one sees any jail time.

I don’t support capital punishment. They should be imprisoned for life. But I also didn’t care when Trump got shot. I don’t care that Trump suggested a merchant of death face a firing squad. These people are not worth our worry nor sympathy.

I was permabanned from Reddit today for my lack of sympathy for Liz Cheney. Figured I’d check out lemmy.

Not going well so far. Already banned from politicalmemes for disturbing the pro-Harris echo chamber.

By that logic, Kamala Harris is pro-Trump for her actions driving away voters.

She’s called for attacks on thousands of innocent civilians throughout her career. Let me find my tiny violin.

People really need to stop assuming every Stein voter is a stolen Harris vote. I’d rather stay home than vote for Harris.

I suspect the actual pushback is to prevent the Greens from reaching the 5% voter threshold, and making them a more viable party.
