They will very soon have the largest userbase of any instance. If your instance gets blocked by Meta, your users suddenly have a fraction of the reach because no Meta people can see your posts anymore. That would put a lot of pressure on admins I imagine.

You can follow any Mastodon account as an RSS feed so that would be two in one.

Yes. That or use Google Cache. They almost never show a paywall to the Google bot because that would hurt their page rank.

Not that I know of. Lemmy is part of the fediverse and you can follow/post to Lemmy communities on Mastodon but AFAIK Lemmy doesn't have a system to follow other users. I think Kbin does.

OP here asks the opposite question

Me too and I don't think it'll be a threat to Lemmy but on Mastodon, there are a lot of old people who already use Meta platforms themselves.

You can hold it in for a while and if you eat less food but with more energy per volume, you can eat less -> poop less and still get enough energy.

Yes, that's my reason for still having it too. All my friends are on there. And getting them to change platform is almost as hard as getting a woman to like you.

I'm having a great time. Lemmy is a little bit harder than Reddit but I have been on Mastodon for some time now so I know how federation works. The only thing about Lemmy I don't like is that it feels kinda buggy and unpolished as it is very early stage and the same posts often reappear. But I like the community and it actually seems to be working so that's pretty cool!

It's just their excuse to make you use their shitty app

Fedora ofc

ChatGPT truly is the greatest writer

I think they're very cool and their big screen when open sounds very useful but they're too expensive for me and there isn't any support from privacy focused ROMs for them. These problems will hopefully be solved once they get mainstream so I'll wait a little

Yes, that's what happened with Mastodon too

I use Libreube but I can understand that people would rather use a stock YouTube patch. You can't like or comment on anything that doesn't require a YouTube account for example and I get why that'd be a deal-breaker for some.

I can't. It looks like my instance isn't federated with kbin.social or something.

What fascinates me is that there must be some people that are interested in what dress a celebrity is wearing, cause otherwise they wouldn't still be writing articles about it.

I could be wrong but I think Paper.wf is only intended to write stuff on and you need to promote your blog via other socials. Then, people can follow your blog via things like Lemmy, Mastodon or other Fediverse platforms. Commenting would also be done via other fediverse platforms I imagine.

They like the position of power over other users and it's worth more to them than being treated well by the platform.
