Thank you guys for your awesome work!

Also to other people: DONATE TO FOSS PROJECTS. If 50.000 people donate only 0.5€, we have 25.000€ for funding the servers, coding, motivating/ people etc. Just don't take a cup of coffee for 1 day. We are already 2 millions in Lemmy instances. We can build a decentralized world together!!

In the road of decentralization! Enjoy the journey!

Joplin. Organise your notes into notebooks and you can also write them in markdown. You can also save your notes encrypted and syhcronise them with the cloud to have them in all of your devices. Joplin is available in all Operating Systems. Also supposts Nextcloud so it can be self-hosted!

Binance has no problem with its clients. FTX literally invested the money of the people in high risk assets, and they ended up bankrupted.

In the day of the Binance's trial, people withdraw more than billion of dollars worth Cryptos. Binance didn't end up bankrupt as they are holding A LOT.

As I Cybersecurity Consultant, I totally agree

Personally I am shutting down my server in the midnights to make it relax for a bit. #MentallySupportingOurHomeServers Butt yes, I still agree with the comments above, even if theserver is not directly connected on Internet, upgrading is mandstory nowadays. Bots are everywhere, especially nowadays with all of these AI tools.

For example, if you speak a second language, you can even help with translation in projects. Its very easy. E.g. I translated the Jerboa (Lemmy client for Android) in Greek 2-3 days ago. I needed only 1 hour to finish and special 15-20 minutes for fixes that I missed, yesterday.

I thought all companies are dying to find a CS boi, how they can even think to reject us?

However they even opened mastodon instance

You can just compile Infinity with your own API keys and It willl work without any problem. Persoanlly, I am more mad from the response and the threats from the CEO of Reddit than the actual change with the APIs

But if it does not getting any updates, it is a bit risky.. Find a custom which gets security updates and then do whatever they say in other comments.

No one wants 32GB Ram and 12 core 9.2ghz on his phone, we don't need a new phone every H-3 years anymore.

Personally I am using a netbook like this as a headless server with Ubuntu.

You can try to run Lubuntu, or even TinyCore and Puppy Linux on this for simple tasks.

Generally speaking, with 1GB of ram and Intel atom, as you stay away from video streaming platforms and use simple tools for writing text or run simple code in python, you would be fine. However with less than 100€ you can find laptops with core i5 4rd generation with 8gb ram. I am not sure if it worths it.

You can try to scan your server with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus (it is available as a docker container) or sn1per which is open source.

++same

Docker:nextcloud+mariadb+caddy

Hahaah some mods in r/greece are doing exactly than too

In terms of vulnerabilities, Even Android 9 is dangerous. Why whould someone use an Android Kitkat device nowadays?

I had a SecurityAwarenesse tiktok account and they just banned me for sharing "illegal content". My videos had more than 50.000 viewers...

No, Fairphone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, as a result they cannot in practice provide vendor updates for more than 5 years. They will just "increase" the version number and just provide typical android security patches.

The new Greek Empire: all (in longterm) thw financial failed western states❤️🫠.

Rising Up a new Generation that is inderectly forced to live with less and less wealth every year without having the "illusion" of building a greater feature.

Already done, still not working :(

Edit: Fedora got an upgrade today and vm-manager works again without any issue. Docker remains broken, maybe its matter of time. Thank you for your response!!!

Personally I use Caddy reverse proxy server and Pihole. I have configured my IP as a domain name in local DNS (example.com).

Caddy supports automatic TLS 1.3 support. So I just copied the CA file snd I installed to all of my devices (even in my Oculus Quest 2). I want to watch movies? I am coming to movies.example.com. i want to read my books? bookd.example.com.

Caddy configuration is very easy, even using containers with docker.

I use MyExpenses

In myuniversity, we used to play with these to find the fastest path in AI (A*, first depth etc)

It reminds me somehow thw old Google+ in the mid 2010s

Who would have thought....

Not really, but a new Mastodon account will help you have a better experience. I am following some mastodon accounts from my Lemmy

Nice sumup,I will copy your message to promote it to other people from other services (with credits of you ofc)

If you are trading, its a cheaper choice. (Except if you are trading in Blockchains like polygon) Also, "not your keys not your coins", but most people are losing access to their Facebook account (without 2FA), they have no chance to keep their own keys..
