The protestors should include this civil engagement on their resumes. Find employers that agree with their stance against genocide.
Any company that would go out of their way like this to exclude candidates who stand up for what they believe in and be on the right side of history is not a place that any of these protesters would want to work for anyway. I can’t imagine anyone besides the extreme far right wanting to work for such companies.
Maybe the US is not a liability in itself, but trusting the US can be a liability. It's like a group project when you have a partner that you know won't do any work. You have to do their part too so that the whole group isn't brought down.
If Trump returns to office or the GOP controls the legislature, NATO will have to do all the work to defend against Russia that it might have otherwise expected the US to help with.

Consider the typical audience for blockbuster Hollywood action movies featuring America-Fuck-Yeah! teams using good old American military tech to defeat the bad guys. It may be obvious to you and us that these movies feature a heavy amount of pro-military and pro-US propaganda. But the average viewer probably just wants to shut off half their brain, see big explosions, and watch other heart-pumping action. Do you think they're considering the ethical implications of the military vehicles and weapons featured in these films? They just leave the movie feeling pumped up and generally happy, and to some degree they'll associate those feelings with the US military.
