Also an ex-contributor; if you want to keep your respect for Wikipedia as a great source of well cited facts then do not look into the qualifications for being a cited source, once you dive into the citations of an article and see important facts having their citation be a random blog post on blogspot from 2003 it starts to feel a little like the Great and Powerful Oz.

It's not uncommon for cases to just be left open for decades, and it is common for cases that have been left open for decades to be randomly picked back up when some new method of investigation can be used or new evidence found, sometimes leading to arrests for crimes comitted even 40 years ago.

Not for you but for services like discord that by last record back in 2017 resized 150,000,000 images per day (and who knows how many millions or even billions of images they serve every day not just resize) these small savings are huge.

Changing hardware definitely unlinks it as I've had to relink it every time I remove or add a hard drive or ssd.

It's quite meaningful on a per comment basis to see how well received your contribution is, but the total is pretty meaningless.

Hi Justin, Steam seems to validate your machine using some hardware info as removing or adding even unrelated disks will cause an unlink even if the home directory remains entirely intact, I'm not sure if it's a bug or intended behaviour but it definitely does happen and why I was hoping just a reformat of the unrelated disk would still pass those hardware checks.

A little bit of everything, just the constant thought of "this would be more convenient if I hosted it myself" made me finally actually set up a server.
