Advertisements work opposite for me. If I see an ad, I hate the company. I adamantly will only choose materials based on personal research and the suggestions of my peers. Any suggestion by a corporate entity or otherwise paid method will only serve to brew hate. Beyond that, I will go to just about any means to get rid of ads. I often refuse to deal with a company if their ads show up when I don't want them to, or if their ad annoys me. There is no good ad.

You guys are strange, who feels the need to write a going away letter on a reddit account? I doubt any of you had some sort of following on there. Redditors are a truly strange breed.

My girlfriend says she knows when I'm ready for bed or going to work based on if she can hear me trying not to throw up in the bathroom while brushing my teeth.

Consult the ancient tome of the Arch Wiki

Look at this bitch and his weak ass genes lmao

Most of my girlfriend's family is deaf. They read fairly slowly and end up usually not really following subtitles very easily. Sign language is fastest for them to understand.

Switching to Gentoo has been the best. If I don't want something I just blacklist it in my make.conf. getting errors from an odd package? Blacklist. Don't want systemd or gnome software? Blacklist. It's great. My shit runs insanely fast and my system only breaks when I explicitly do something stupid, and it's usually just one minor adjustment away from getting fixed.

Primarily, but lower magicians can likey find some wisdom there as well.

I usually consider graphics to be a secondary to gameplay. I play a decent amount of ascii terminal games, so graphics doesn't matter much to me.

My gag reflex starts at my teeth. To answer for real though, I can't brush my tongue. Things touching my tongue, aside from food, makes me gag very hard. I'd never make it in Miami.

If you've done arch, it's like long arch

Anytime I tell my girlfriend jokes like this she's gives me the "God, you're a fucking nerd" sigh. This past weekend she made pokes at me cause I found a really nice printing of Plato's Republic for 50 cents at a thrift store.

A coworker of mine was an computer engineer in the early 2000s, but is now a warehouse director. She told me she helped her son build a new pc but it was having heating issues. I asked about fans and she said it only had 2 intake on the front with no exhaust. Told her a local shop that has cheaply priced good fans. She said computers have changed a lot in 20 years. I helped in about a week ago with choosing storage blocks, had no clue nvme even existed.

I hate all these bastards. That's why I only use gentoo and play games I find in thrift stores and google drive folders.

No, I got a pixel 7 and put calyx on it. Better than any samsung I've had. I don't plan on going back to a closed system ever again.

I'm American, and of Spanish descent. On all my paperwork it says Latino, people here often don't get the difference because they forget Spain exists.

Ow my head

I tried it and it recommended gentoo, devuan, and artix in the top 3. Which happens to be the 3 linux distros running on my computers.

So, I have been doing a system with my pc where I have a case full of different nvme ssds with different OSes on them. I might have to do that on one of them.

I just eat a raw onion. (Not joke)

I always forget chromeos is based on gentoo.

I never was an xbox guy, so talking about them is confusing because of the naming scheme. They lost me after the 360.

I have a Kraftwerk sticker on my coffee thermos. A guy at work asked what it was, I said it was an influential electronic band from the 70s/80s. He said, "oh. So people actually listen to techno? It's not a joke?" I said, "yeah, I guess so."

What's the best place to look for jobs these days? Going on indeed floods me with endless "insurance sales" positions. I tried Dice, but almost every job is wildly out of range for experience to pay. I've devolved down to scrolling over an area on google maps and clicking businesses to check their websites.

I use a t480 for my carry laptop with Gentoo. It's been solid. Replaced both batteries pretty easily, replaced thermal paste, and it's good to go again. I paid about 160 got it. I had a t460 as well, but gave that to my gf. Either of those were good and not too expensive for a semi modern computer for general usage.

I've been using Qobuz. Sure it's still paid, but I can buy downloads for any of the music on there. Same with Bandcamp. I've been buying one album every paycheck and putting them on my storage blocks, then putting them on my media player and phone. I support my favorite bands, and get to keep something in return. On top of all this, I hunt down CDs. I've got a massive physical music collection, and it's nice.

Whatever you know best. My personal choice of distro is Gentoo, my gaming pc and my carry laptop both run it. My games run great in gentoo, and because I understand it best, I deal with few issues. For a long time it was Arch, and before that Ubuntu. I used Ubuntu for only maybe 2 months before moving onto Arch then Gentoo. My games always worked, but once I really understood Linux, they ran great.

I have a gentoo sweater. They have an official merch store, but it looked a bit rough. I, shamefully, got a made on demand sweater from Amazon with the gentoo logo on it. I did also donate the price of the sweater straight to gentoo though as well. I donate to them from time to time.

This is cool, but beyond anything I wish the linux version of firefox used my default filepicker. It keeps choosing to use the gtk file picker instead of thunar or whatever else I choose.

It's an one in all tool. I like that I can do almost everything through one program.

I have installed it maybe 5 times now manually. These days I do a script install then mod whatever I need to afterwards. This time I'm experimenting with binaries by converting the whole system to a bin system. It's a good bit quicker and a little easier to manage. The few things I need to configure get done so through source, but most things are fine as a bin package.

There's a restaurant in my girlfriend's town that basically says that if they have the ingredients then it's on the menu. The menu is absolutely massive.

Hit up the lawyer gym.

Looks like a ridiculous fallout gun

100% crack smoking

Played as a crack head and just smoked crack ti I died after breaking my legs.

I'm here for my hobbies, which typically don't involve naked people. I liked tumblr back in the day because of the really strong underground music scene on it, but it just vanished all at once when they changed the rules. Really bummed me out since I made some good friends and was able to promote my music really well there.

I donate to Gentoo every once in a while so I don't have to live this life.

That's a cool wallpaper, know if there's more for otherr countries?
