It is currently impossible to run Digital Combat Simulator on linux, so I dualboot. Also the occasional xbox exclusive game.

That actually seems like a solid option. Do you happen to know how well it integrates with Traefik and the like for setting up reverse proxies?

Literally not at all. It's a completely different genre.

It's an attempt to align with the West. Most Western countries are protestant/catholic and celebrate on the 25th, so if your goal is to westernize not only politically, but culturally, it's a step towards alienating those who cling to The Old Ways lol

You csn hate a company and like a product. They aren't mutually exclusive.

I feel like the closest in the deep south is just "preaching to the choir". A redundant task which ignores a probably better path or explaining something to someone who doesn't need it explained to them.

I'm both a gamer and HP fan.

I thought the game was great, and I didn't really realize the depths of people's distaste for it, I guess.

Was it crazy revolutionary? No, but it was fun.

Fitness data is typically provided by services like Google Fit as non-diagnostic non-medical information. Therefore HIPPA compliance is not required.

Why are people trying to replace Discord? Just for the sake of federation or..?

AAA just refers to production scale/marketing budget. While it can often be conflated with high quality, that's not what the term refers to. Similarly, Indie does not mean low quality, high quality, or a particular level of risk

Madden, as a famous example, has always been AAA, but has rarely innovated much.

The memo addresses these points fairly well.

I love Bones to death, but they really should have stopped it earlier.

Supernatural seasons 2-7 are pretty great, but it just tanks during season 8 IIRC.

I mean first of all, not every part of the world needs it. Second... everyone who needs it and can't afford it should also have access.

Giving it to group A does not, in cases like this, preclude group B from it as well.

As long as possible to an indeterminate time and/or when authorities indicate to leave.

I completely get where people are coming from with that opinion, but I've been playing MC for almost 15 years, and I'm having just as much if not more fun with the game now as I did at any other point in its development.

Minetest is super cool and can be very fun. I play a bit on it as well, but exclusively advertising for it on the platform of hur dur mineshit sucks, which isn't necessarily what you're doing, I just see that a lot, definitely isn't the best way to go.

So I was in the middle of typing out "I always turn off Windows Defender for this exact reason!", but I thought better of it and checked.... turns out when I reset my computer last I skipped a step in my procedures lol

Thank you for pointing out the obvious! It is almost always helpful!

Only the absolute basics.

Mostly black, but after living in the UK for awhile I got used to doing a touch of honey and/or milk.

Office 365 online can be a good stopgap for those cases if you need it.

Hi! I'm a linguist, and this topic is one that comes up commonly.

The answer is no. There is no such thing as languages/words that are native to humans. You can have things that are widely shared (mama/papa based on baby-talk as an example), but seeing as language itself is not universal to humans, there is no such thing as a word that is universal.

Feel free to ask any questions if you're curious!

As I understand it, you can host your own instance off a personal server, and use that as your "home" instance.

Do you know of a good reference for using Traefik with non-docker uses? I've struggled to figure that one out lol

Do you have a recommendation for smart plugs and/or bulbs that work well w/Home Assistant and have decent security?

Unifi does both. They have Mesh systems which also can be managed through the centralized router and can pass you off the mesh system onto other APs seamlessly.

Been using ASAP Launcher since like 2015-16. Never had a good reason to change tbh.

The crontab that is found at /etc/crontab very specifically states that it has a user field. I will readily admit that I might be misunderstanding it, but that feels pretty explicit to me.

Was not aware of VSCodium! Does it still play nice with the plugin system and such?

I get the gist of what Opnsense is from the name, but what are some of the practical benefits for a small home labber to use it over PFsense?

Technically I do, maybe? My home server is running ProxMox which virtualizes PFSense. My docker install is on a separate VM, but same physical device. Not sure if that counts lol

Yea diskpart is its own little beast.

Surprisingly really functional though. Probably my favorite windows command

What are bottles?

Awesome idea for a D&D monster though. A coin mimic which only attacks when you try to spend it lol

For the benefit of any of Today's 10,000

Haven't seen that referenced in a hot minute lol

You can go to the terminal tab and just run the cli command.

Not perfect, but something to avoid needing to ssh in at least.

Honestly, I run my TrueNAS with obly 8GiB and it does great. That said, I'm not doing any deduplication or anything, and my pool is only 3 drives at a total of ~15TB iirc

What would you recommend as an alternative? Right now I'm just using them for DNS.

I have edited /etc/crontab with the following 0 * * * * * root /mnt/nas/freshrss/backups/backup.sh. After waiting for the crontab to fire off, nothing happened.

Thank you so much for the response! However, it as actually much much simpler. I skipped a step in my procedures after resetting my computer, apparently, and forgot to turn off Windows Defender!

You were exactly right as well! It was Windows Defender that was causing the issue!

Thank you so much!

This might be a bit late, but from my perception Traefik has a touch more of a learning curve, but it integrates much better with solutions like Authlia/Authentik and Prometheus than Caddy does.

I might be wrong, I've never used Caddy, but that's my perception.
