Well count me in. It took me two weeks to successfully create an account, but it finally didn't crap out on me.

Maybe this is the good thing. Let Reddit stay filled with the lowest common denominator and divisive politics. Making Lemmy a little more hassle than the common user wants to experience to get into might be the only thing that keeps it from becoming the ban heavy echo chamber Reddit is.

yadda yadda, anger, protest, retaliation, back down, bad vibe.

I only had to read two of your comments to know I never want to read another one again.

Time to look for that block user option.

That's fair. It still makes them cowards though, word definitions don't change because we want harmony.

goo gone works better in my experience.

I look at it like this: I've seen, heard and read enough shit in my 48 years to know when I'm better off without certain types of people. So I block them. I'll never have to read a comment and see that username again and go, "oh, this fucker again... ugh"

In no way do I suffer from this approach and lose out on some enlightenment or critical information.its a win, win.

Worst case scenario is I blocked a decent person, but I'll never know and it still won't make my life any less fulfilling.

And for the record, I dont spend my days blocking people. Maybe four to six people a month (on Reddit), probably far less here, because most users seem decently grounded in comparison, with far less emotional issues.

But fuck yeah, I do love the block function when someone gives me that bad energy moment. It's liberating.

You never met my ex.

He is merely helping the guy be more readable and impactful. Especially since it wasn't a "fun" post. Posts educating people are in fact best served by removing the clutter. Chill.

I'm a native speaker, and it comes off as condescending to me.

What about private trackers? I very rarely touch public trackers

Sounds like a smart tactic for a hat she wants

Very inclusive of you.

I was trying to make an accounting on and off for a couple weeks and failing, so I got lazy and used my spam name. I may make a new account with a name I like though.

No pinning please, pinned posts on Reddit got out of control and is an eyesore that still pisses a small part of me off, when I have to click or scroll that tiny bit more to get to the content I actually read.

Right? Anyone judging a person based on the phone they use is not the kind of person you would ever want I your life. Bullet freaking dodged.

Send them a thank you card and never think of them again.

If people didn't choose the easy route when given the option, North America would not be suffering from an obesity epidemic. Why make something healthy and time consuming when fast food is so conveniently available?

How much did that cost?

Very Elitist feeling eh?

DCC instantly comes to mind when I read yours

I've left windows open all year and no humidity issues. I almost always have them during the Spring and Summer other years. I'll take it, I hate humidity.

Oh that's an easy one, life exists to further the entropy of the universe. That's the only reason. Entropy cannot be reversed, and it's extreme is inevitable.

Lemmy in my phone, because no way I'm installing the Reddit spp and old Reddit on my PC, because it has access to information not currently available on Lemmy

They don't know what good food tastes like, so they are content.

The best audiobook I ever listened to. Dungeon Crawler Carl. It's quite the unique experience if you are up for it. Donut is one of the main characters... basically a normal cat that had it's intelligence boosted to genius levels, trying to survive a dungeon forced upon humanity, by aliens who treat the spectacle as a game show, with trillions of viewers galaxy wide.

My words are inadequate to describe it, but of the thousands of books I've read, this is my #1.

Minimalism is an artform all its own.

Just calling out your hypocrisy. You are either inclusive and change people the right way, or you are no different than that you think you are better than. People who think like you are ignorant and mentally weak.

It would be a cool story if he didn't tell her and she just fell for his personality.

As a Canadian as well, I find our parties to be extremely Left leaning, even the Conservative party isn't very Right leaning.

Don't get mad just trying to help in case that's the word you intended to type
