I can't hype The Outer Wilds enough. It's such a fun exploration game that evolves into a big mystery.

I also just finished Ixion for the second time. It's a city builder but with stress. I enjoyed it a lot because it scratched my particular brain itch, but I can see it not being for everyone though. IXION soundtrack is a banger though.

Man, I really feel like the internet is under a major shake up at the moment. Feels weird.

Somehow I missed a flight while I was at the gate. Mind you it was a small plane. I still don't understand it to this day. I was sitting at the gate waiting for them to announce boarding or watch the sign change. Nothing the whole time I was there.

Finally about 20 minutes after we were supposed to leave I get up and ask the desk staff and they tell me the plane left.

I didn't understand how this had happened and apparently neither did they. I didn't see anyone board the plane, there were no announcements or notifications.

I was either experiencing this or something similar to it. I was waking in the night and seeing things in the dark that I was sure was there. Really terrible things. A person standing in the corner of my room, something crawling on the ceiling.

I did some reading on the subject and decided to try a sleep mask for a few days. The whole time I wore it I never experienced the visions again. So after that test I decided to get blackout curtains because it was the light bleeding in from a streetlamp that was contributing to the hallucinations.

While this is a fantastic suggestion, and pi-hole is amazing, we shouldn't be in the position where this is required just to use a darn TV.

I'll second ventroy. It actually just works.
I have a 256GB usb stick loaded with various install isos. It's great being able to just copy over the iso instead of having to image them every time I need one.

Manhacks from Half-Life 2.

For real. I moved over to Samsung a while back and I miss choppy choppy light light.

And I decided to force my laptop to migrate to PopOS and I haven't looked back.

I finally got fed up with Windows 11 when an update broke itself during an update. Apparently it was a pretty widespread issue. Defender got disabled because the update renamed several files.

I moved to PopOS and have been happy ever since. I couldn't believe that almost everything on my Lenovo Flex 5 just worked, including the touchscreen, pen, and 360 degree hinge. The only thing that doesn't work is the finger print sensor apparently due to lack of available drivers.

I really like how modern PopOS feels.

For now until they start ruining that too somehow. I wouldn't be surprised to eventually see browser based throttling.

So back in the day you could hold home to pull up Google assistant and tell it to translate whatever was on your screen. No matter what app, browser, etc it just worked. I have no idea why they ever got rid of it. Now with the modern version of tap to translate text has to be highlight-able in order to be translated, which is a bone headed decision. It's like they never use the stuff they make.

I find this mildly infuriating, so I think it fits here.

Yeah it was crazy scarry. I also had a lot of stress in my life at the time and I didn't realize how much stress and burnout had built up within me. I'm sure that helped contribute to my sleeping situation more so than scarry movies. The sad truth is the boring day to day of real life is more horrific than any horror film.

Is this a somehow a reference to The Rescuers: Down Under?

So you would think so, but no. I asked about a gate change and they said "The left from this gate, on time."

This is true, everyone has an option, however education is helpful. The more people that understand how things work, the less likely they are to hurt themselves if they encounter it.

Sorry it took me so long.

I'm one of those weirdos who actually likes an email client vs a web one. I have multipl email accounts and it's nice to have one space for all of them. I used thunderbird for years and eventually caved and started using multiple tabs of web interfaces.

With this announcement I said to myself hell let's try it. Immediately upon installing it I thought I had the wrong version, because the layout was the same old layout that's it's always been and not the new vertical card layout they showed on the website.

I was able to change it to look like their new modem redesign but it was not the default. So just a heads up to anyone who's curious to try it because of the fresh coat of paint.

I'm going to try it for the next few months and see how I like it again.

I refuse to install anything Facebook related on my outcome. I was one who has to walk away.

I think you're right, I didn't notice it initially. Maybe I can find or make a better video.

Yeah, I ended up just tossing another $15 at Parted Magic. It really just has all the tools you want on in one place. Great for recovery or destruction.

If they add wireless charging I'm sold. I'm willing to give up a lot of other stuff but I really want an SD card slot and wireless charging.

Reading this I couldn't help but say aloud: "Yeah, no shit."

So I believe this is something that's been around for a few years now. At least in Europe. It's considered experimental, no insurance would touch it and it costs €5000.

I'm still very interested to try it.

Edit: For clarification, if this works it will be a godsend for tinnitus sufferers. That's why I'm still very excited to try it.

Haha yeah I guess when you tldr it that's what it boils down too. Though when you're seeing things that don't exist, if covering your eyes didn't work... I guess it's time for a hospital trip.

Also, thanks I'm glad I figure it out too.

That's exactly how it works. And every time you boot to the USB drive you're presented a boot menu with a list of isos. You pick the iso you want and then it boots normally to that iso.

So it's two pieces of magic that make my life easy.

  1. I just copy the iso to the USB drive.
  2. The boot menu is automatically refreshed every time you boot using it. No updating the menu required!

Its one of those things, once I started using it, I can't imagine how I worked without it.

I can't speak to the design. I've just worked with this type of knife for years and I thought it was a fairly standard design.

I'm not advocating for one design over another, I'm just trying to spread awareness.

I failed a handful of times before I made it through. It's really about keeping am eye on your numbers in the top bar. If any of them aren't looking right pause the game and find out why.

Just a heads up there are some bugs still and you'll need to hit some things with a hammer.

I was considering them until they removed expansion storage on their phones.
