You mean you don't want to see the same whiny post about LTT again?

I'd have the biggest bonus at my company.

Old school RuneScape 😎

I run Plex and jellyfin side by side. Plex usually gives me the most hassle free experience so I use that most of the time.

I prefer the flexibility of creating user accounts myself on jellyfin so that's nice.

But jellyfin after being up for 4~5 days balloons to 6GB of RAM consumption while Plex stays at ~200mb. Really annoying.

3 more...

Cause jellyfin has all the telltale signs of a half baked open source project, and plex doesn't.

Jellyfin balloons to 6gb ram usage after a week while plex stays at 400mb.

The interface of jellyfin is way less polished and the actual video player UI has a bunch of bad decisions that push more technical babble to the end user that confuses more than helps

I run jellyfin and plex side by side. Everybody has preferred plex over jellyfin on my server.

Literally the only upside for jellyfin is admin created accounts not requiring the end user to sign up themselves.

What's depressing is countries where self defense doesn't exist. Where defending yourself is a crime that gets you locked up.

It's actually not expensive just because. They don't manufacture this stuff in a pill packing plant with an automated machine that just churns this out.

Cell therapy takes blood from a patient and manufacturers with it to make the drug. It's made manually by a team of people for a specific patient. The material costs alone are a quarter of the price in most cases.

Cell therapy ain't cheap.

GPM was dope, no two ways about it. I was sad when it closed.

But after moving over to YTM and using it for years, I like the change. It lets me stream music, just like GPM. It lets me play local files and put them in playlists just like GPM. And it lets me put more underground music on my playlists that are uploaded to YouTube, unlike GPM.

The UI and everything you interact with is way better than GPM too.

Not trying to be a Google shill, but I actually love YTM. Podcasts coming just combines two apps I used into one.

I'm literally agreeing with you, you fucking monkey.

What's your idle ram usage? After a few weeks uptime it's sitting at 4GB. Plex is barely at 100mb. Fucking drives me up the wall.

I loved my z fold 3. Took too many falls and the inside screen had it. Would happily get another if they weren't so expensive.

Idk about renting, sounds like ass.

A core charge would make more sense, like swapping propane tanks you get a discount for having the empty core with you.

Damn you're depressing

This is what literally every jellyfin user and forum has told me. So far it's been completely unfixable.

Plex support actually gives me useful responses.

Manufacturing costs alone are insane. I work in biopharma, specifically manufacturing.

Most of these drugs you see on headlines are made from the blood of the patient. You can't mass produce that.

He's right, downloading gets you better encodes that prioritize quality over getting the smallest possible file to keep upload totals down.

But yeah you're also right, for 99% of people avoiding downloads is the right move.

I could demonstrate to you That every single bank robbery That in every single case practically The cost of the police was more than The actual money that the robbers took from the bank Does that mean, 'Oh, you see There's really no economic interest involved, then They're not protecting the banks The police are just doing this 'cause they're on a A power trip or they're macho, or they're control freaks That's why they do it' No, of course, it's an economic... Of course, they're defending the banks Of course, because if they didn't stop that bank robbery Regardless of the cost, this could jeopardize The entire banking system You see, there are people who believe That the function of the police Is to fight crime, and that's not true The function of the police is social control And protection of property...

Yeah, actually. The regions this will spill into have lots of hunters.

Them square joints is tight. Never slip out on an impact.

There is no sunroof, this is a former cop car. Crown Victoria.

Will look for drain holes. Thanks

THAT'S WHAT I'M FUCKING SAYING. I'M AGREEING WITH YOU GUYS.

fuckin lemmy is insufferable god dam you all suck

Stop schizo posting

Agreed. My argument is not that pickups are also owned and not used to their full potential.

My argument is that pickup trucks are the affordable workhorse of America. You can pickup a cheap second hand truck and beat the shit out of it while getting the job done.

Need to demolish a concrete structure at a customers house and dispose of it cheaply? Have you workers toss the rubble into the bed of your $5000 f150 to dispose of yourself. You wouldn't want to do the same into a vans cargo space with all your tools.

Most work trucks in America tow a trailer full of tools and other materials that can't get messed up, that's why it's really handy to have a bed attached to the truck for waste or extra tools.

I know what you're saying. My '23 Audi a3 has all the things you would want to buttons instead of touch screen only.

I have huge gripes with bad infotainment systems, only reason I bought this new car was because I have no issues with it. I'm coming from old American cars. All the benefits of physical buttons with tactile feedback while being way more fun to drive.

Old maps were .bsp , new ones are .vpk . So like the other guy said, would probably need to be recompiled in HAMMER.

Trunk is fine, have a subwoofer set up in there. That was my first concern. Absolutely no moisture in there. The doors all look fine to me, all the gaskets look good. I think it's coming through the HVAC floor vent.

But wouldn't accessing content on the other instance be just as slow? How would making your own instance just for sign in be beneficial?

It's mainly a music app. Videos can be enabled, but by default it's off.

YouTube is the video app, not YTM.

Disagree. I've actually come to like YTM better than GPM over the years.

So you think this pramkster was minding his own business?

Yeah, the post reads like someone who's never done any manual labor in their life.

I'm their mind pickup trucks were being used to haul paper and poster board to their office job. Hahahahaha

Are you seriously saying a fucking kei truck is more useful than a pickup?

You've never done a day of blue collar work and it shows. That chintzy little JDM truck can't do half of what America's work force needs.

Everyone says this but personally I always liked 3 more.

Maybe it was the nostalgia because I played it first.

Just build a computer with hdd's and install unraid.

This kind of mentality only works if you don't play games with other people.

Multiplayer only folk usually have a friend group that plays multiple games. If they don't work in Linux you're SOL.

Back when I tried to use Linux and never boot Windows a good 2/3rd of games I couldn't participate in and was left behind. So while it's better than it was, it's still not good.

You're exaggerating. That's the point he was making.

The official client is totally playable. Lots of people use it. RuneLite is just a lot more modern and expanded.

It combined two apps I already use. The UI of YTM is better than the podcast app anyways. Not a crazy huge benefit, but there's no detractor for me because I already use YTM heavily.

Unraid is great. Don't let the FOSS heads say otherwise.

I paid $100 3 years ago, ONCE. Best purchase I've ever made.

I've tried the foss alternatives after getting familiar with unraid, and I still prefer unraid.

Sync is making a client for Lemmy. I used sync for Reddit for 10 years and it was the best.
