¡Pásele, pásele! Tenemos variedad, joven.

🍃 just a leaf on the stream of creation

Okay, but what about the profits he raked?

170k is an insulting amount of money to be "earned". Retribution is needed.

Out of 19 people elected, 6 mentioned moderation and/or trust & safety in their platform goals. 4 people mentioned ecosystem diversity. The remaining people mentioned a variety of goals.

When I saw these results, I was was confused why some listed no pronouns at all. When I inquired about it, I was told that it was optional.

Your concern about cisnormativity is totally valid, but I see little correlation with the mod tools? What improvements could be done on the technical side?

ETA: thanks for sharing.

Here's the pdf to the 4th edition.

What improvements did you make based on the book? I'm skimming through it.

I've learnt how to launch 7 terminal simultaneously; feel like a total hacker out of a movie.

On a different note, I feel completely lonely. I haven't talked out loud with anyone for 4 days. Speech is exhausting.

Add to that, just had the opportunity to watch The Babadook and Hereditary back to back. It broke me in a beautiful way.

I haven't eaten in 2 days because of having my wisdom teeth out.

And I bought some red scrubs to use as pajamas; they're incredibly comfy.

We managed to declutter two big rooms; now we can finally walk!

There was a box with memories dating back to '87! People were crafty. That gave me the idea to make pop-up cards as gifts for xmas, though I've never made one.

I'm proud of myself!!

These last two days I've been working on my digital wellbeing. Did some filtering on all my email accounts (i have about 7), and deleted 25-30% overall :D

It took a lot of willpower to actually revisit mails dating back to 2013. Fun trip to the past.

It's definitely a treat! As someone living in a really cluttered home, it really makes a distinction to use the "nice" item for a change. It's about focusing on the now rather than hoping there'll be a better time.

Recently, I realized some markers had dried up and didn't even get to use them once! Or the time the cool stickers didn't even stick...

It has somewhat changed my perspective of the stuff I really want to keep, and what I keep because I feel obligated to.

Fantastic!! I cherish the first one so much, and i wonder how they're going to spice it up.

From the trailer alone, there seems to be now an earth-type that modifies the terrain? So excited.

Same thought! I played the physical game once, and it was awesome when I found it on Steam.

all the best for your game! creating something for oneself is really special.

how has your experience been with GB studio so far? a drag-and-drop seems ideal to then extrapolate to code. i've been trying Godot, without any specific project in mind. Even though it's obscure to familiarize with the UI, it's fun to inadvertently break the physics.

have you heard about game jams before? if that's your cup of tea, Theresa this one i recently stumpled upon and might get in.

that's great! way ahead of the goal, i see. what was this last book about?

i've met with 3 people i cherish and haven't seen in a while (a best friend, a cousin, and a fwb), yet there's this lingering sensation it was all sour and i didn't know how to properly react.

apart from that, I've been more physically active in the evenings. and I've eaten! regularly!

i treated myself by having a loooong play session of Hollow Knight. the stopping point was right after a key upgrade, so it felt like a cliffhanger (!!!) for when i pick it up again.

It's the predicament between choosing convenience or privacy. Apart from local businesses, what other searches have you found are improved by them having your data? For me, it's money exchange rates.

(What alternatives do you use for email and storage, though?)

What app do you use? Jerboa doesn't allow keyword filtering AFAIK

Fun tactic, indeed. Responding as if an unruly AI manages the account.

News are entertainment: something to have an opinion on, but not to action upon them. I prefer my local gossip.

It looks scary. Cool!

Did you print it at home? The colors fit quite well.

I hit the threshold in a week, but it was because I got engaging results.

Ideal search engine for falling into unexpected rabbit holes. It's scratches the itch of really exploring the web.

I stitched a little notebook !

(so little ! it's about A9 in size)

they do have their PRE token: for users (per search), for node operators (as reward), and for advertisers (to stake words).

crypto aside, the results are decent and different, but still quite similar to what google would give you. personally, an option with consistently better results has been Kagi.

though if Presearch soon implements their own index, i might take that back...

Have not contributed enough to Wikipedia! I'd like to implement this on links I come across.

How does one get an Archive link for a specific date and website? I tried snooping around but am not familiar

as a kid i thought those arrows pointed to heaven. seems this driver was with 5y/o me.

I picked it up again this week, too! The ambience is perfect, really on point for immersion.

Not sure if those mushrooms you mention have been in my way, but at the moment I cannot beat those damn explosive jellyfish in a reliable manner. Breaks definitely help; after a while I'm filled with determination.

Hey!

From the Steam Sale, some casual games about playing with the odds:

  • Peglin is quite fun and short. The more pegs you hit, the more it damages an enemy. Highly replayable with all the modifiers making each game unique.
  • Roll is similar, modifying dice to get the highest score in 2500 rolls. There is way more complex calculations, but I like how messy it gets.

From the ones already on the library, just Hollow Knight which has been a delightful yet frustrating experience. The soundtrack is stunning, and I love me some platforming challenge.

unsure abou how often; I don't do it because I have to meet a quota, it's more of a I-can't-hold-to-myself-when-I'm-✨bedazzled✨ kinda thing?

Although as others have mentioned, I don't wanna sound creepy; for strangers it's generally about a cool accessory they're wearing. i verbalize the compliment by refering to their uniqueness, not intending to start a conversation just, "cool hat 👍"

interesting question, thanks!

Thanks! I haven't heard of Joplin and I've been experimenting with ut this throughout the week. I love the math and flowchart plugins!

I'm willing to try this as my definitive note-taking app!!

Though, the feature of "Draw picture" is not available. Did you enable it somewhere? What version are you using? I have 2.12.3

No need to apologize, it's an honest comment. Plus not all weeks can be winners 🫂 How have you unleashed your creative side?

grandma is hospitalized, yet I'm more stressed about the relatives I'm staying with. yeah, they've been taking care of her for years now, but they mostly talk shit about her. it clashes with the sweet perception i have.

did i really get to know her?

we're all suffering, but I don't know how to help. I tried cleaning a bit, but my uncle got angry about moving his dirty dishes. the least i want rn is to be a burden.

I've been mentally preparing to be a little down for winter, but this is a smack down.

It is an interesting question indeed!

I also find quite interesting how introducing the Dual Dialectic turns the usually-depicted 2D moral plane into a... Riemann sphere?

Even then, that geometry seems more fit to deal with representing the frequent compromises between individual and collective. My solarpunk heart is happy to read about this second model.

Neat visualization and quality writing. Thanks for sharing!

Welcome! 🥂

i think spoilers in Lemmy are styled like this:

::: spoiler the spoiler Title

::: spoiler [the spoiler Title]
[text to hide]
:::

:::

ETA: wow, that scene hit hard. i didn't particularly remember that, but devoid of context stands as a neat 4min short. why did you pick that scene?

ETA2: thanks for indirectly guiding us to invidious. seems fantastic!

wow. so... this question sent me down a fun rabbit hole! thanks for posting/asking :-)

these are The Scenes I stumbled upon while hopping through TV channels, that then ended up being among my favorite shows:

  • ::: spoiler Utopia The show is crude, and the soundtrack reinforces that impending sense of threat. This scene encapsulates that: sure... it's just two strangers talking at the airport. :::

  • ::: spoiler Miraculous Ladybug I didn't know it at the moment, but this interaction is quite meaningful for both characters and fitting the overall show's theme of compassion and community: up until that point, the blonde had been setup as an antagonist but decides to own her mistakes and be an ally. :::

onto the spirit of the question: for a singular scene that stands out from any show:

As I understand it, they're joining precisely because they'd gain little. By flooding it with their content, any new user would think Fediverse=Threads.

I've seen the acronym EEE (Embrace, Expand, Extinguish) thrown a lot in these discussions because it's a 3-word summary of their presumed strategy.

Thanks for your concern, and the funny imagery, it really made me reflect. I'm now on a better place mentally.

Apart from filters (to exclude content you don't want to see), how did you curate your feed? was it entirely from All and Local?

If you find it convenient, sure! If it's just an addition, an edit may work.

By the way, just wanted to share that Disco Descent in particular fills me with determination.

I've seen the PipeBot frequently, only on comments though. Does it work too when the YT link is in the post directly?

Also, I'll give Invidious a look.

Have you played Crypt of the Necrodancer? The soundtrack is optimal for this.

Not yet, but it's a feature I really liked to jump into the conversations
