Generally speaking, consideration for others is inversely proportional to the desperation of a given community. Think about how hard people have to work these days and still can't afford a decent place to live and food to eat. It makes perfect sense that someone who feels that the system is keeping them down, and wearing them to the bone won't be conscientious of how their actions will affect others. That mixed with Western ideals of extreme individualism, and a political climate that promotes divisiveness, it's truly a wonder that anyone has any consideration at all for their fellow countrymen.

He doesn't list what the mistakes will be. He said that he fears that because hardware people aren't software people, that they will make the same mistakes that x86 made, which were then made by Arm later.

He did mention that fixing those mistakes was faster for Arm than x86, so that brings hope that fixing the mistakes on Risc V will take less time

Different design paradigms. In 1969, they had one shot to get everything right, and prepared accordingly (not to mention, they had a massive budget since the space race was all part of the cold war).

SpaceX is taking a different approach, fail fast and cheap. They are taking an iterative approach that allows them to learn from previous failures, rather than anticipating what all those failures could be and then over engineering the rocket to prevent that.

They are different approaches, and each has their own pros and cons. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's still misleading. He died of a heart defect exacerbated by high capsaicin consumption.

Any high stress event could have exacerbated the heart defect.

There is a possibility that the Higgs field isn't at it's lowest energy state, and that a random quantum tunneling event could drag the Higgs field to that lower state. In this unsettling scenario, a bubble pops into existence somewhere in the universe. Inside the bubble, the laws of physics are wildly different than they are outside the bubble. The bubble expands at the speed of light, eventually taking over the entire universe. Galaxies drift apart, atoms can’t hold themselves together, and the ways that particles interact are fundamentally changed. Whatever form the universe takes after this event certainly wouldn’t be hospitable for humans.

There's a way to opt out... I did it six years ago. No regrets at all.

EDIT: TBH I didn’t read the article because of the paywall

Maybe don't post articles with paywalls then...

The executive branch president doesn't have the authority to unilaterally deschedule it. I'm no Biden fan, but this is him working toward that promise. I do wish his moves were less political in nature, but maybe we can get a more unhinged dark Brandon if he gets reelected.

Edited for clarity.

I've always held that belief about block vs shredded/sliced cheese, but in my receny grocery trips, I've noticed that all the stores in my area charge the same by weight for block, shredded, and sliced. Obviously YMMV

If you want to dual boot Windows, do yourself a favor and get a second SSD to run Linux from. It'll save you a lot of headaches.

Tips on running multiple distros together on my laptop?

Sure. Don't.

Just use VMs instead. Partitioning your hard drive to boot multiple operating systems from is asking for trouble if you don't know what you're doing.

This is correct, but as an addendum, for a lot of very old games (that don't fall into that previous category), it's usually easier to get them working under Linux than it is under Windows. Go figure.
