I got a set of metal picks from Harbor Freight for like 3 bucks. They're similar to the pick tool that a dental hygienist uses. I use these things nearly every day to scrape stuff out of a crevice, retrieve something out of a narrow hole, pull stuff out of a tube or straw, precision clean corners of things, etc. I love them.

Unfortunately, certain people (i.e. the mega-rich and more generally Americans) are consuming resources at an unfair and unsustainable rate. You're suggesting that scarcity is the natural result of immigration and population. In a vacuum that's reasonable, but in real life we have a small number of people sucking up exponentially more than the rest.

Tangentially related: I read somewhere that Mexico doesn't invest much in cutting-edge military technology, because their geographic location means they would easily overpower South America, or easily be overpowered by the US. Or maybe that's not very much related at all...

2017 Leaf here. It's my first EV and I can't see myself going back. The fact that I never have to put gas in it hasn't gotten old. I should note that 2017 is ancient in EV years so the range is pretty bad. I can only rely on this as my primary vehicle because my partner has a gas car.

I helped lead an organizing campaign at my nonprofit a few years ago. After 18 exhausting months we had 70% support from staff. Right before the election management forced everyone to attend "information meetings." It only took 3 meetings for staff to get scared, and we lost the election with only 43% support. It's probably the most depressing thing I've ever experienced.

I'm not an expert on this at all, but my understanding is that "evolutionary advantage" is a misconception. Mutations don't have a goal, and they don't always provide an advantage. Hopefully someone smarter than me can explain better.

While I believe all drugs would be safer if they were legalized and regulated, I think your criteria for what constitutes a drug are arbitrary. MDMA has the potential to heal trauma, but it also has the potential to make people do or say things they regret later. Likewise, meth and heroin have a high potential for personal harm, but some people are able to use them safely for long periods of time. I don't think it's useful to debate what is and isn't a drug.

I don't know much about this stuff, but I use a DualSense and I like it. It's comfortable and the joysticks have a nice resistance to them. I can map the controls to match the deck controls. You can't use some of the cool DualSense features like adaptive triggers, and there's no gyro or rumble, but I realized the other day that there's a trackpad! It's pretty jerky but maybe that can be fixed with settings.

Previously I used a switch pro controller and it felt a little cheap. Obviously until Valve releases another controller, nothing is going to match the capabilities of the deck controls.
