I don’t think I’ve ever had a kid come to the door without a costume, I’m not sure I’d even notice. But yeah, who knows why they haven’t got a costume, so I’d probably give them some.

I’m avoiding reading this thread as I don’t want spoilers but I didn’t really enjoy the first one that much and dropped out before finishing. I hear a lot about 2 though, is it worth playing the first one in order to play 2?
It took me ages to realise this. People with ADHD are always portrayed as lazy but they don’t struggle with hard work, they struggle with boring work. Before I knew I had ADHD I always found I was getting in trouble for not finishing boring work so I always used to prioritise tasks by how much fun they were and start with the most boring. I just ended up getting nothing done.
$400,000 isn’t even that much for a company like this, it might’ve cost that much just trying to fight this.
I hate Windows for all the monetisation and privacy issues but I never really had problems with it killing my computer.
I once met a guy who made at least 20 times what I make and didn’t know how to spell dolphin. He was a bit better than me at trading commodities though.
Seems like a terrible investment, I can’t see what they can possibly do to add value. Everybody who wants to use Reddit is already on it and anything they do to try and milk it will just lose them users.
Maybe they could donate their own money.
BBC tracked down the guy behind it and found that he had 17 self-published books on Amazon. According to the reviews they’re total nonsense that’s clearly written by AI.
Two things. Linux certainly does have a difficult learning curve, at least compared to Windows and OSX. I’m currently in Fedora 39 and I had to dig up some terminal commands off the internet just so I wasn’t choosing between 100% and 200% scaling. That’s just beyond the average computer user.
Secondly, I wish people could stop trying to teach everyone that Linux isn’t the OS. Anyone that cares already knows, and anyone that doesn’t know doesn’t care.
I order from there quite a lot. I’m not really a fan of buying Chinese stuff but all the electronics are made there whatever you do and this way I’m cutting out the man-in-the-middle dickhead types who closed all the local factories and moved production to China just to push up the share prices.
I’ve always found it to be pretty good, remember that you don’t really deal with Ali that much, rather individual shops selling their stuff on there. I’ve had problems with stuff arriving broken before but I’ve usually found their customer service to be pretty amazing, they’ll often replace stuff without much fuss. I once ordered a Bitcoin miner before realising later that it was a scam, and Ali refunded me all the money.
The two main problems are that nothing on there is good quality, it’s all just cheap Chinese stuff. The second problem is that it takes ages for everything to arrive.
I don’t care that it’s Microsoft, RDP is so much better than VNC.
Despite having his laptop confiscated, Kurtaj managed to breach Rockstar, the company behind GTA, using an Amazon Firestick, his hotel TV and a mobile phone.
Most of the time a company does something like this they would just let it die. It’s good that Microsoft have at least made the effort to hand it over to a team who’s willing to keep it going.
And now Prime is doing the same, and Disney wants to tackle password sharing. If everyone had just cancelled Netflix when they started this shit we’d be paying $5 per month and we’d be sharing passwords on all of our streaming services.
It’s device manufacturers that are fucking up, not MS.
The article also mentions that it may have happened because the father was unhappy with how the superintendent had dealt with the daughter being bullied.
Explain?
It’s crazy that the “I’m feeling lucky” button still exists, I probably haven’t clicked it in 20 years (though I’ve been using DDG for like the last five).
Haunted castle.
The difference between each generation of consoles is getting less and less. The latest jump doesn’t really give you anything the previous gen didn’t give you, it just has sharper graphics. The graphics aren’t even that much better.
Godspeed.
I used to work a compressed week and started taking Monday but eventually it moved to Friday. When I took Monday off I felt like I had to pay for it with the next four days, when I took Friday it was like I was being rewarded with an early weekend.
I don’t think charging for content is the problem, it’s just the way some companies do it.
It’s all I drink. But I only drink coffee for the caffeine, it all tastes like shit. If I want to enjoy it I have a cup of tea.
This company represents the worst aspects of capitalism now. They’ve got anCEO whose only objective is to get shareholders to vote for his insane annual bonuses, and he does that by trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of his customers. It won’t be long before they start cutting costs on providing content so everyone’s going to be paying more for less.
I cancelled Netflix a while ago but it’s a shame because I quite liked being a legal customer for everything. Now I’m a conscientious objector.
I’m pretty sure that someone, somewhere inside Nintendo will have a Google Alert setup.
Nobody donates to these things.
I wonder how many people haven’t realised that the new Mail/Outlook client, the one they’re pushing everyone towards in Windows, actually syncs all your mail to MS servers.
And it’s because you’re an antisemite.
I don’t want to bring work into my home, plus I like meeting people. The only problem is the commute.
What are you implying? BBC has been very careful not to use the terms Palestine and Hamas interchangeably.
I knew when I read these comments people would be criticising her.
He later told BBC Newsnight that the officers had questioned his wife on why he had travelled to the Palestinian territory, who paid for his ticket and which charity he was helping.
A spokesperson for the Met said: “On 16 October, police officers responding to a report that a man was planning to travel to a war zone attended an address in north London where they spoke with one of the occupants.
“Having identified that the man had left the UK for humanitarian purposes, the officers signposted the occupant to current FCDO advice.”
How is that harassment or an attempt to silence them?
I remember when new iPhone releases would make headlines and people would crowd around computers to watch the live announcements. I remember sneaking out of work early once so I could be home in time to watch it with my housemates. Nowadays they’re so boring they barely get mentioned.
I love summer. I love wearing shorts and t-shirts, swimming in the sea, being outside, and opening the doors like the garden is just another room in my house.
I grew up in a time and place with only a handful of TV channels and no internet, and I would still sit and spend my weekends watching absolute shit rather than doing anything. I remember this particular time on Sunday when every week the best thing on was horse racing, so I’d sit and watch it for 5 minutes before checking the other channels, just to come back to horse racing.
My parents grew up before TV and I asked my Mum what they did instead. She said they were mostly just bored.
Despite all the problems the internet does make hobbies way more accessible. Nowadays if you want to learn something you can just Google it or watch a YouTube video. Before the internet you’d have to go out and buy a fucking book. Working on computers in the 90s, I used to spend days or weeks trying to fix problems that I would solve in a few minutes now.
I enjoyed Madness Returns but the main problem was that some of the chapters just dragged so much. If they’d cut it down they could have made a really really good budget game and nothing of value would have been lost. It’s a 14 hour game with 6 hours of content.
All MS want to produce are sequels to their tired franchises. Does anyone even buy Halo anymore?
TIL that in American liquorice is called licorice.
Black liquorice is great, damn kids just want to eat a bowl of sugar nowadays.
