well thats quite infuriating I would say
I think you are mixing two things up. Some 4k remasters have incredibly distracting film grain. Blade Runner comes to mind. It's a matter of personal taste and how accurate you want the film to reflect the film source.
The more compressed the file is, the les accurate it is, and film grain is the first thing to get crushed by compression algorithms
IMO thats the beauty of a federated network
And I expect it to fall another 6% or more on July 1st. So long, Reddit
It's crazy, in more or less 5 days as well.
I know it's not what you specifically asked for, but my guess is that the original mod saw that /c/hockey@lemmy.ca was getting more traction and decided to bail out.
Greedy bastards
Considering it might not go out for at least 7-8 years, if not 10, I'm not suprised.
And so close to the deadline as well. It's really weird
When reader was killed off it marked the beginning of clickbait articles and shitty news blogpost.
Before I could simply subscribe to my favorite website RSS feeds. After we had to rely on goddamn algorithms
I suspect there will be a large influx of new users in two days, and that having Jerboa not working on .world might cause a few issues
I can't say I'm surprised but its a testament of the slowly dying state of physical media
Three years already..I bet 99.9% of current users, myself included, didn't know that Lemmy existed two weeks ago
Broken in the latest release
It's incredibly fast as well. Beautiful UI
This is like watching a trainwreck in slowmotion. I feel so bad for employees whose company was bought up from Embracer.
Lemmy has grown exponentially in the past month, it's frankly amazing how well it's able to sustain the massive influx of new users, but yeah, some features like this one are dearly missed
Can confirm. Having the same issues here
I never thought I'd see another Digg link of my lifetime
You can check your favorite subs daily and not be overwhelmed by content. It's a nice thing
No. But you can search them in the communities tab (local or global) and surbscribe to them. And if it doesn't exist, create it :)
That's exactly what preventing me from switching to a more obscure instance. I don't want to redo my subs all over again
Same goes for a lot of websites
I personally use a Firefox Nightly shortcut with uBlock, VideoBackground and SponsorBlock enabled for the YouTube website. Plus it works on all platforms.
I find it more reliable than Newpipe, who's constantly on a cat and mouse run with Google.
You can still direct link Imgur pics using 3rd Party Apps (yeah I know) like ImgurViewer
Hmmm. Try this:
lemmy.world/c/likeadragon
Sorry I'm on mobile and Jerboa for Android is quite limited ATM.
Otherwise search for likeadron, it should pop up
I get an error message when replying to comments tho.
You mean community? An instance is basically a server that connects to other instances, which themselves host communities on different topics.
On the web interface, you can create a community on your instance (Lemmy.ca). Once other instances have indexed your newly created community, it will appear to every member of their instances
Super responsive, and I can login using Jerboa 37!
That statement is going to bite is ass in 4 months
Yes, please! I would gladly pay for a 60FPS version
No AI texture remaster bullshit. Just release the game as it is, but 4k/60FPS
THANK YOU SO MUCH
replying from Jerboa 36 😃
Thanks! It baffles me that the most popular Lemmy app doesn't work on .world, one of the top two Lemmy instance.
Well this is sad.
That's an unfortunate timing. They should have locked registrations before accepting too much traffic
What was the point of all those acquisitions then? This is horrible
Lemmy, Mastodon and Kbin are the future of social media.
