I would love for beehaw to stay on lemmy, not necessarily for federation but for my personal ease of use. I understand your issues however and would not be opposed to moving to another base. My main concern would be the availability of an (or possibly several) open source app to participate on the platform, because platforms that are browser-only/PWAs I end up not using on my phone because it never works right for me. And if I don't use them on my phone, I don't use them at all. So for me the main advantage of beehaw on lemmy is being able to use apps like Eternity, Jerboa, and a host of other options to browse and participate in it.

That's the thing. They don't make their camera app available to third party ROMs despite officially cooperating with one, and they also haven't made the camera's features available to third party camera apps. So for me, being on CalyxOS myself, that announcement email read like a joke.

Here's the creator of pixelfed saying he won't work with Meta, and I believe his pixelfed instance also signed the pact.

Conservatives want to conserve their privilege, that's all

Among Us. But it was free and I only needed a couple of rounds to figure out I don't enjoy it much

A greedy asshole who thought himself a genius?

If you haven't used Linux before, just know that Garuda might not be the most stable. It wasn't for me at least, I had to rescue it often. But that might have been because I didn't use/update it regularly enough.

No, you can't have mandatory payment for DRM-free media. That's why all bookstores operate on an honour system and let you walk out of the store without paying for the books you take with you.

As someone who watches the WAN show semi-regularly, I do not get the same vibe from their relationship as you do

Neat thing I learned recently: create and attach a second virtual disk for data, set it to writethrough mode in virtualbox. That way it is excluded from snapshots and rollbacks.

I'd love that, but imo ALttP is the one in most dire need of a proper remake

For humans, but not necessarily for camera-based autonomous cars? They also can't just stop on a highway to prevent accidents.

By going through your browser history to figure out which pornsite messed with your driver obviously

I could see accidents being more likely for autonomous cars on highways though

That so many people think Mastodon is hard to join makes me think that there are a lot of people on the internet now who have never learned how to use the internet

Another proof for publishers that they only need big promises and nice trailers to sell their game, nevermind the state they ship it in

I don't really bother with emulating Switch on my Steam Deck because my Switch is lighter, quieter, has better battery life, and a far better (OLED) screen. I do love my Steam Deck as well though.

Personally, I'm using Pocket Casts, but you can't use it on desktop without their premium subscription, which I don't need. Antennapod is a good Android App and supports sync through gpodder.net, but there are no good iOS apps supporting gpodder, so I stopped using it. But I thought you don't need Spotify Premium to listen to podcasts on there. It might be easiest for you to just keep using it for that.

I've been using it for a while as well. I often put concert tickets and stuff like that there

People used to reddit really need that /s there buddy

I haven't come across a FOSS scanner app that comes close to the performance abd features of the popular closed source ones. That's why I use closed source ones that still work when I deny them internet access. Genius Scan and Microsoft Lens both work that way.

That text you quoted says that "Jews get the distinction", i.e. they get to be the only group of people being referred to as Semites. It does not say that "the Jews" or even "the Israelis" are responsible for the propaganda, which seems to be how you understood it?

I heard it's when you owe two months' rent, which is the case after 32 days.

I tried it out today and came to the same conclusion. It's not possible to use it as a standalone player unfortunately

Are you sure NextPod can't play the episodes? Because it lists it as a feature on their github https://github.com/pbek/nextcloud-nextpod

I got the PS4 disc for like 15€ new

I've heard good things about Nobara Linux for gaming. It's basically Fedora but with some patches to make it work better out of the box for gaming. Stuff like proprietary Nvidia drivers can be preinstalled. I have Fedora on my machine personally, but installing Nvidia drivers can be a pain if the open source drivers don't give you a working system with your card.

By saying "new" and "produced", you are deliberately excluding the GTA Trilogy remaster I assume, because that is definitely a Rockstar Games mess.
