I have a coworker whose default mode of thinking is to manually type everything. He knows about things like tab completion and copy-paste, but for some reason those two things just aren't baked into his brain as a natural reflex like it is for most people. Like if he has to put a URL or database connection string in a config file somewhere, he'll start manually typing the string one character at a time, and will keep alt-tabbing between the config file he's editing and the email or whatever that has the reference string.

It drives me up a wall.

It's growing pains from individual instances not being quite ready yet, and from people not understanding the point of decentralized instances. Too many people and subreddits congregated in lemmy.world.

Both of those things will get better in time. The admins need time to upgrade their servers, and the new users need a little bit of discussion to figure lemmy out.

As long as lemmy's user base keeps growing, then we'll get there eventually.

Here's that guy's mastodon page: https://mastodon.social/@urda

You can see his post there that ended up here.

Edit: I guess it would've made sense to link right to his post: https://mastodon.social/@urda/110664134957884750

I've been on a Samsung A13 5G for about a year and a half. I switched to Samsung after I dropped my Pixel 5a one single time, and the phone totaled itself...

The A series is alright. My A13 isn't too laggy or anything, and Samsung sends out monthly updates just like Google does. The only thing is I'm not sure how long Samsung supports each of their A devices.

Of course there are compromises that Samsung makes with their A series, since it's a budget line. Like I think the A13 has a 720p screen iirc, which is kind of lame. So just be sure to check all the specs of whatever A series phones you're considering.

But overall, I've been happy enough with Samsung, and would recommend them. I'm probably going to stick with their A series for my next phone.

I guess numbering it "infinite" wasn't the best idea, in hindsight...

It's lame how you're supposed to click no tip with the cashier standing right there staring at you. I've done that a few times when these first started popping up all over, but I always kind of felt like an asshole afterwards. Now I've just accepted the fact that I have all these new tips I have to pay.

If only one side of the bed is touching a wall, then that side is the back. The opposite side would be the front. The remaining two sides would be the sides.

If your bed is in a corner with two sides touching a wall, then I would say both open sides would be considered the front.

If your bed is in a nook with three sides touching a wall, then the one open side would be the front.

If your bed is in the middle of the room and not touching any walls, then there is no front.
