I expect we'll lose about 90% of the web within five years as this becomes normalized.

It will primarily be the seo driven AI crap driven ripoff regurgitated shitfest that's arisen in the last 5 years tho.

I'll be waiting for a search engine to arise that only shows user controllable presentation and will use that.

A way to filter out the corporate trash will make the human web better, not worse.

This is the part of "corporations are people" that somehow always proves the lie.

Put all of JP Morgan in jail. It can't do any business at all until it serves the 90 days in jail for contempt of court since they failed to produce discovery and any of the SEC's assertions that could have been based on this data, no matter how outlandish, are considered as facts to the jury going forward.

Cease and desist or we'll sue you for 100x the money you and your whole family would have made in your lifetimes.

If they had brains they'd have stopped funding the seo abuse trash fire that the net has been for the last 10 years already. If they're still here now they're never gonna leave.

2023, the year that big tech shot it self in the face, continues.

Framework is super tiny. They had to pick one, and only one, GPU to engineer the boards with. I also think they plan to sell maybe 10,000 of them. I doubt they can even get nvidia to call them back for an OEM batch of 4070 laptop chips at that quantity.

Got all that stadia trash just laying around, Let's roll it into youtube. Nobody will notice!

This reminds me of the plastics and fossil fuel industries telling consumers to recycle to fix the pollution problem.

Distributed computing for science research is like 0.01% of the wasted computing electricity while the idiocy of cryptocurrency where people literally waste electricity to create proof that their fiat imaginary coin has value to the suckers in their bigger fool scam.

Last I heard the world has a second UKs worth of burned fuel to make electricity for that ongoing scam.

The constitution allows for a nationwide communications network that's run at low cost for public good. USPS is absolutely legally allowed to run internet service and it's shame that it hasn't taken this over yet.

Put out robot bait and the follows just rack up.

The ori games are great on deck too.

I miss MSDOS 6.22

Yes, get an ssd first. The 64g version doesn't just have small storage size but it has slow storage type.

It's absolutely worth the $20 to get at least a 128g 2230 nvme disk, and 1tb can be had for within $10 of a same size SD card.

I watch Netflix shows in high definition without widevine every day.

Are they really 7nm chips tho? They do love to brand shit as other shit.

Wait until these end up in phones and have the power performance of 11nm stuff.

2023 the year when every tech company shot itself in the face.

For me the problem is the SoC they chose was too slow to be viable in 2018, let alone today.

"Waaaaah, I can't play this one game because it's an Xbox exclusive." Plays the 90 Sony exclusives instead.

Even if it doesn't say it has support if it has controller support and doesn't require anticheat you've got a great chance that it will be fine.

Viva la return policy!

If you go by that logic then there would be no second place console in the market, because every game would exclusively be on the number one console.

Walled garden captivity for any platform has always been anti consumer profiteering and was perfected in the mid 90s after the atari clones all passed into history.

Why would any corporate anything want a privacy focused social media site? There's no way to extract data or money from it. It's not like they're in the game to give you a service you want to use. Just enough to keep you generating data so they can sell you.

It's a thing for every streaming app. You don't get to chose what to see even if you pay.

Try to find a music streaming service that isn't shited up with podcasts and audiobooks.

User controlled streaming is not available for any price. The only way is to yohoho and plex it yourself.

I'm already 90% done with YouTube since their discovery feature is totally broken. A feed with 40 videos, 25 of which I've already watched 5 that are right wing outrage porn and literally nothing I want to watch at all?

I have a few subscriptions that are on floatplane, nebula or peertube already that's pretty much all I watch on YouTube since it's so enshittified.

I'd happily pay for premium if yt would unfuck their suggestions, but if they decide to lock out adblock instead I'm totally gone.

If the aggregation site publishes enough of the news story within the aggregation site itself that the reader never follows the link the news site never gets a chance to show them ads.

This whole problem is rooted in the idea that the internet should be paid for by corporate propaganda, so I don't shed a tear for anyone on either side of this.

Let me pay $5 a year for a login and give me an rss feed for your news network. I am now the customer and not a sack of attention that you're using a minimum viable product to sell to your corporate owners. It's a win win.

At least they're not as bad as Microsoft. Azure is a goddamn dog with fleas.

How does a password manager or 2fa do anything at all to protect privacy?

Play pikmin 4 and totk on the steam deck. Its hilarious that one of the top 3 consoles is emulated on a pc with integrated graphics.

This is the way!

Games often don't put the save files in the game data dir but use some random place in documents or the home directory. The library itself will move and be picked up fine but the saves will have to be sync thinged or rcloned or something manually if they're not on steam cloud.

I max leveled my deck and had go move over to a rog ally for more accessories and software jank battling.

Yeah, but as long as they don't buy more apple hardware it will seem regular priced to them.

Tell me you don't understand modern chip manufacturing without saying you don't understand modern chip manufacturing.

I've already given my prediction. They'll be marketed as 7nm and have the power/performance profiles of 11nm+

You don't like gaming. Stop doing it for a while and maybe your mind will care about it again.

Nova Drift is a great asteroids rogue like.

Castlevania IV from the advance collection (and it's frustrating AF) trying to do all of the classic castlevanias but I may hang this one up and move on. I feel like I spend more time fighting the controls than the platforming.

About two hours into Chained Echos after finishing Cosmic Star Heroine. I always have to have a jrpg going.

Try to get the c suite guys at a news Corp to admit reality is impossible tho.

The X1 was obsolete and underpowered when Nintendo chose it.

Sure AF ain't $50 good.
