I've been on Reddit since 2011 and feel very bittersweet about all this. Reddit has changed drastically since I first joined so I already mourned the earlier days of Reddit but this really feels like the last naio in the coffin. On the other hand, I wouldn't have discovered Lemmy without Reddit and I see so much potential here so that is the silver lining in all of this.

In case anyone missed it, it will cost 1000 Community Points or, more importantly, $5/subreddit to basically get some sort of "subreddit premium" status. The $5 is for users who don't accumulate 1000 CP's per month to retain their subreddit-premium status.

Agreed. My own issue with voting is people vote to indicate agreement/disagreement and not for the quality/effort of the post, which was the original intent of up/down votes from what I understand.

Does anyone now if the restaurant pays different taxes on food/drinks sold and tip/service fees?

Been on Reddit since 2011 while my main account is only 9 years old. Regardless, Lemmy is now my go-to except for smaller subreddits that haven't fully migrated yet. That said, I've noticed more and more activity in those lemmy communities so I have high hopes the trend continues!

Who do you think pays when governments bail out large private corporations?

Has there been any new posts? Everything looks one week old on my end
