Oh, so now you're disappointing other people's parents?

The article states that the PS5 is responsible for significantly more gaming hours, so a large number of PS4 users are likely mainly using their device for streaming or similar. Hell, I still have my PS2 and 3 in my closet since they're my only dvd and blu ray players.

I think he's liked more because he's relatable, rather than he's an interesting character. Personally, I think his pranks on Dwight are amusing, but everything else about him is nothing special.

I had over 11k hrs in WoW when I quit. That was over the span of 12 years and definitely included some extended breaks, but there were also long periods of 6-10 hrs a day for extended periods.

Not specifically a command, but my dog knows the sound of me taking my headset off. She figured out that me taking my headset off means I'm getting up, which means there's a chance I'll let her outside.

Haven't played it myself, but from what a friend who has played it told me and from what I've read, the game was pretty buggy after launch, and the devs didn't put much post-launch work into it.

Also, it's an isometric ARPG, akin to Diablo, rather than a MOBA. Check out Last Epoch if you're looking for a good ARPG.

I have a couple hundred hrs in and I would definitely say it's good. It's clear the devs care about making a good game, rather than just a financially successful one. If you're into ARPGs, it's worth the asking price.

It's worth noting that with the 1.0 launch, there have been connection and loading issues, but they're working through them and should (hopefully) be resolved soon.

Edit: I should also add that complexity-wise, it strikes a happy medium between Path of Exile and Diablo 4. There is a lot of customization depth between passives and skills, but it doesn't feel like you need a college degree just to theorycraft a build. You can also reset all passive and skill points, so you're free to experiment.

Quite a few people in The Division community loved the Survival mode from Division 1, so I figured would have had a good audience. I'm a Division fan, but didn't care for Survival or the Beta of Heartland, so can't say I'm heartbroken over this.

In Japan. It's supposed to release globally sometime this year.

It would make good business sense to drop Craftopia, but kind of a shitty move imo. Many people bought it with the hope that the devs would finish it.
I tend to avoid early access titles for mainly this reason, and am specifically waiting on Palworld to hit 1.0 because of how Craftopia development was handled.

I used to work help desk, so I've had lots of practice with patience of this sort, but I have come close a fair number of occasions. My company hires retired folk for some part-time positions, and I was helping one of them reset their password. I was on this call for 45 minutes because he couldn't type the default password correctly, eventually his manager came by and helped him type it in and make a new one (against corporate security policy, but I was so done by then that I didn't argue).

One thing I learned while working there is that most people, regardless of age or anything else, know exactly enough about computers to perform their job role, and as soon as they encounter anything slightly outside of their knowledge, it's freakout time.

Because it's nice to have options, and as we've seen time and time again, once a certain site/service becomes the de facto for that niche, it's all too easy for them to start squeezing their userbase for more money.

If you think Nexus won't go down that route (they have overall been pretty good to their users so far), there are still other concerns, like imposing restrictive rules, services going down, the site being sold, etc.

Just be careful about airflow with something like that.

I picked up the game about a month ago in prep for 1.0, and have been having a blast with it. So many of the features and design decisions made show that the devs truly care about their game and are striving to make it good, rather than just financially successful. The game is $35 USD and well worth the asking price IMO. While there is an in-game cash shop, it's all cosmetic and can be easily ignored.

I've mixed quite a few things into mac & cheese. Ketchup has never been one of them.

Speaking of condiments, mixing about 1 tbsp of mustard (dijon works best, but regular yellow is fine too) into the cheese sauce helps bring out the cheese flavor, but doesn't make it taste like mustard.

It's an open world anime game with action combat. Sure, there's more to it than that, but at a glance, I can see how people can make that connection.

I went on a cruise 20 years ago with my family. We drove to New Orleans and stayed a couple days there before boarding the ship and hitting a couple spots in Mexico. Overall, the cruise was fine, but I actually enjoyed our time in New Orleans more. Some notable things from the cruise: -Security at the Mexican ports were packing some heat. I saw security personnel with Uzis and M16s. -The ship had a clothing-optional tanning deck, and I found it equal parts amusing and awkward to be walking with my parents among a bunch of topless/naked people laying around. For context, I was 18 and raised in a conservative christian household, so I hadn't really been exposed (heh) to that kind of thing before. -The food on the ship was fine. They had a soda fountain and small pizza bar available 24 hrs/day. -A hurricane was entering the gulf towards the end of our cruise, which ruined our snorkeling activity. The waves wouldn't let us swim very far from the shore. At least we got refunded for that part. -On the way back to NO, we sailed on the outskirts of said hurricane, so the waters were decently rough. Luckily, I don't get motion sickness, but evidently, just about everyone else did. I got bored sitting in the cabin with my seasick family, so I walked around the ship. It was kinda eerie seeing almost no one else as I was walking around.

I don't think I would do another cruise, since for that kind of money, I'd rather take a trip that I would enjoy more, not to mention the environmental impact those ships have.

"Get it done" or "Take care of business". I guess another one is "Future me will appreciate this".

MMO player, here. Give me 100 gofer, kill things, or escort quests (okay, maybe only a couple escort), and I'll be happy, as long as I get a few pennies and a marginal upgrade every so often.

In all seriousness, I call these types of games "run around and do things" games, where the gameplay is fun and the world is interesting, so the quests are mostly just there to nudge you in various directions.

MHW was great, but I feel I can't go back after playing Rise since the combat is much improved imo. I did feel the larger maps and tracking mechanic made World a better overall experience, though. Also, wirebugs > slinger.

I think you're jumping to conclusions a little too quickly, there. Was my time in WoW habitual? Definitely. Escapism? Sure. Unhealthy? More often yes than no. Every time I quit, it was because the game wasn't fun anymore.

I'm sure you mean well, but you may not want to draw conclusions based on a couple lines of text.

I knew there was some jank with the fluid system, but not to this degree. I now feel less bad about leaving some pipe setups in a "good enough" state instead of optimizing.

Rajang was legitimately scary in MHW.

I would make a game like Anthem, but good. I loved many aspects of that game: the exosuits, the co-op focused gameplay, the open world, and yes, I like looter shooters.

Other things I would do: -Combat/traversal would be a bit more ground-based. There would be jet-assisted jumping and maybe limited flight, but not sustained flight -A modular weapon system. Take a base handgun/long gun/launcher/etc and modify it to be rapid-fire, scatter shot, sniper, target-chaining, or whatever else. -A post-apocalyptic world with a harsh environment that requires vehicles or exosuits to get around in outside of established towns/shelters.

Other game Ideas I had: -A single-player story-driven game where you play as a battlemage in your nation's military. The setting would be somewhat modern-day with magic. Due to the presence of magic, guns would be extremely limited or nonexistent, and I think would be an interesting idea to explore. -A gacha game without the gacha. I like games like Genshin Impact with the open world, exploration, characters to collect, team building, and regular content updates, but without the predatory monetization and focus on dull grinding and daily-logins to drive engagement. I'm not sure how feasible this would be without the amount of revenue a gacha game brings in, though. MMOs kinda do this, but I would want to build my own party, rather than play a single character.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. The last "physical" PC game I bought was Mass Effect Andromeda, and it was just a box with a code. I still buy physical Switch games, though, but partially because I get them with Amazon reward points, which sadly aren't usable on digital items.

It does! I've used it a couple times as well, you just need to be really careful not to add too much. I couldn't tell you how much to use since I just eyeballed the amount I put in.

I was looking forward to this one for months, but shipping it with nProtect Gameguard rootkit is a hard pass.

For Fallout 4, in no particular order: Troubled Waters Pickman's Gift Here There be Monsters The Big Dig Last Voyage of the U.S.S Constitution Hole in the Wall Silver Shroud Cabot House Spectacle Island - while not a quest, this is a good settlement area if you're into settlement building

A bit off topic, but if you have access to mods, there are some great quest mods for Fallout 4. I didn't do much with modding for 3 or NV.

The best games in this regard are the ones that let you rebind everything and also have an alternate set of keymappings.

Reboot was such a good show, and ahead of its time imo. I rewatched it a few years back, and there were so many tech jokes and references that went over my head as a kid.

I think games with sprites are great, but I can't say the same for low poly 3d games. Not every 3d game needs to have super high fidelity with millions of polygons making up each character's face, but I think games using n64/ps1-style models is a bit too far in the opposite direction.

It's worth noting this will also be coming to PS4/5, Xbox, Steam, and Epic.
