Only downside is you won't find stuff from domains without lemmy in them, e.g. feddit.de

All kinds if interesting, whacky stuff.

This is a life-saving YSK.

  1. Have an extinguisher, and have a type fitting your needs.
  2. Know where you store it / have it accessible, even in a panic & fire
  3. Know how to use it. You don't want to read up on it while something is burning.
  4. Keep it checked up. Extinguishers need to be maintained every few years.

You need to type it with an exclamation mark in front. Lemmy will then provide you a dropdown of it's communities, and upon selection convert it into a markdown link:

!fediverse becomes
[!fediverse@lemmy.world](https://lemmy.world/c/fediverse)

which is shown as a link like this !fediverse@lemmy.world

The crazy thing is that I find myself commenting way more in here. If I was to answer to an askreddit thread, it would just get lost, but since the community here is smaller, it feels like every comment has more relevance

Perhaps to expand on that: also have a fire blanket in your kitchen. They are dirt cheap, no maintenance and if something catches on fire during cooking you can throw them over and stop it before a chaotic situation develops.

Should be all the communities that your instance has discovered.

One of the things I wonder in these videos: Has none of these guys ever seen one of these videos? It's not like the idea is super original, and I would think that in like 20 years of internet usage you would stumble on one of these and decide to not do that yourself.
