Proceed to cause an even bigger preventable genocide…

If you’re concerned about quality, re-encoding from a lossy format to another lossy format is always going to lose more quality. Even if the format you choose would have been better quality if it was encoded directly from the source, the result is almost certainly going to look worse than what you have now.

Would be difficult for it to be as much as chrome

If the result is more cooperation between parties, that sounds good to me. The entire thing that got him ousted was certain far right members saying “you can’t work with the Democrats at all, no matter what,” which is one of the most fucked up, dysfunctional things I’ve heard out of our government in a while

Why does he look like a wax sculpture of himself?

1 min without traffic

He would still own a massive share of the stock

Religions are sort of like mind viruses. The ones that have survived have done so because they are very good at taking root and multiplying in the human mind. Sort of a natural selection of ideas. They develop the necessary features like a way to ignore contrary evidence and severe consequences for not believing

The two main ones I think about are zipper merges and space in traffic. The most efficient way to handle a lane merger is to do a perfect zipper merge right at the point of merging. But everyone in the lane that’s ending always tries to merge early, and too many people in the other lane don’t want to let anyone in when they get to the merge point.

As far as space in traffic, traffic jams are actually waves that propagate back though the stream of cars. The only way to end them is to have enough space between vehicles to allow the traffic stream to compress without losing speed. The spaces in traffic also make room for people to change lanes without causing anyone to brake for them. Those braking events are often the triggers for traffic waves.

The practices of those businesses, and people choosing them over other options, is exactly why you don’t have other choices now

The first thing in the sentence is literally them learning about what the company does, directly from the source. Who exactly do you think is more qualified to comment on it? Random internet users with no relation to the industry?

Fuck yeah. This perspective is beautiful, and I’m glad I got to hear it. You’ve touched my life already, and I hope I get the chance to positively affect many others.

The point is the conservative political ideology is against significant change in society. The current GOP wants radical and regressive changes. Aside from fascist, they should probably be more accurately called reactionary or regressive

All the management staff at Nijisanji. They’re hiring minimum wage, fresh out of school kids for legal work, project management, translation, talent management… Needless to say, it’s apparently hell for the talents

Only Fans is trying to get into video. This is probably what they should be doing, not whatever that TV thing is

The slide shows neither. It shows that they use synonyms to get more results. They take a search for “kids clothing” and add results for “children’s clothing” and “kidswear”

If you read what you linked, the meaning where they overlap is in the sense of a tail or something hanging down. The cue in the sense it’s used here, as a prompt to act, was in use since the 1500s in theater. The use of queue to mean a line only began in the 1800s and probably came out of the now basically unused meaning of cue/queue to refer to a tail-like thing. Curly cue and pool cue are the only remaining uses I can think of. Queue has basically lost that meaning in favor of its new one thanks to IT applications. It does not mention cue ever taking any line-related meaning.

Don’t do this

Yes, that’s the entire point of “black lives matter”

And you can’t have those?

Firstly, the amendment does not require any conviction. It is simply a prerequisite. Secondly, Colorado literally held a trial to determine this. It was determined in a court of law after reviewing all the evidence and holding a trial that he was not eligible. This was not done “by the democrats”. This is the legal system and election officials doing their jobs

Most of the ones I’ve seen are attachments on toilets. So you do drip, but it’s into the toilet. I haven’t had any issues with stray poo even with no pre wiping. It all drops into the toilet also. It’s a jet of water from far away, so you’re not really in contact with it to infect it.

How would your solution be any different than voting for a third party? It would have the exact same problem of being too risky because it probably won’t get enough votes to do anything other than help the party you don’t want to win. Ranked choice is a simple change that could be implemented quickly with some decent support already.

It would be “enthused” in English

i can't see how paying someone would have changed anything in this scenario.

we need more people actively reviewing code and release artifacts

I think you’ve answered your own question there

But the state of the cat is also already determined in a real experiment because it is linked to the outside through air and the walls of the box via vibrations and temperature. Probably even through photons coming off the cat hitting the box. I don’t know if there’s any way to fully disentangle it from the experimenter. This theoretical cat superposition only exists as a thought experiment

Higher than you’ve ever been

Yes, the US nuking Israel would definitely be less apocalyptic…

I’m not really sure it was just semantics. He was technically correct the light would get some power right away, but the thing everyone would understand when hearing the main assertion, i.e. the light is fully lit and the circuit is in its relatively steady, final state, is very much not true.

Apparently China does, with their policy of trying to strong-arm the rest of the world into calling Taiwan a part of China

The point is they very much care about the perception of the rest of the world. Your idea of what is comparable there is a little too literal

“What do you mean that’s a crime? We do that every day back at the Capitol”

Nice, good to know. Thanks for the insight

Actually, the batteries are proving to be extremely reliable, to the point that they’re likely to outlast the rest of the vehicle. On average, batteries with 100,000 miles are still at 90% of their initial capacity. The situation will only get better as solid state batteries are rolled out

A few for me:

  • Automatically updating entries with app or URL information if they didn’t match and you had to manually search for them. You have to copy the URL, leave the browser, open the app, search for the entry again, and manually add the URL in the current version.
  • Better defaults in the app like which group you log in to or which collection new entries are added to. Keeping all your entries added to a shared collection is a constant chore right now.
  • Better keyboard functionality. It’s basically impossible to navigate with a keyboard on PC right now. Keepass has a global auto type hotkey which made it so you hardly even had to open the app.

Of course you can’t be sure anyone involved, paid or not, isn’t compromised. But if you want more human effort put into a project, people need a reason to do so. Complaining that volunteer contributors don’t spend enough of their time and effort with no compensation isn’t going to solve anything. Maybe AI tools will make that work more available in the near future.

A single shot of espresso is only around 20-25ml. A double shot is the most common amount you’ll get when ordering a drink at a coffee shop, and 60ml is on the high end of that. Here’s even more about this topic specifically: https://youtu.be/F4wrUP4c5P4

I’m not blaming them. I acknowledged they may not have any other choice. Just pointing out the harms for the benefit of anyone with the option to do something about it

I pirate music, but I also purchase most things I end up enjoying as long as it’s reasonably available

It’s the viewing experience that’s the point. Would you want every murder mystery movie to be named “the killer was X”?
