more choices over ads you see

Who in their right mind want to see ads

Honestly is it even worth anything? Even on reddit I didn't really pay attention to how much karma a user had, maybe when I wanted to check if it was a bot or something.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Considering that the reddit app was closed source and a source of income for the dev, highly doubt it.

Shit's depressing.

Seems like the perfect repesentant to the GOP lol

1337, careful to not confuse with 1377.

Out of the loop, what happened?

So far *

This is comical beyond belief lmao

They'd probably attract more people (even people that are here right now) before doing so. Thus creating another centralized platform.

Idk if I became biased after this whole shitstorm, but looks like there are more low effort reposts than before and even less effort in the comments.
Also, idk if it's because I have a lot of subs blocked, but subs like 'am I ugly' gets so many low hanging fruits, to the point that it looks like bots posting.

Comical dystopian shit, as always

It's actually quite risky. Some people died last month in Brazil because of the disease that's is transmitted by these ticks (Rocky Mountain spotted fever if I got it right from google, febre maculosa in Portuguese).

The ones spewing Russian propaganda? Probably the government itself

Everything everywhere all at once, but in a good way

Steve, is that you?

If they're all on the same instance, there app that can block entire instances.

Chill man

You're right, didn't think about that.

I wouldn't underestimate them though. After all, they own some of the biggest social network platforms on the globe and have the formula to hook people up down to a t.

They could nuke all posts, right? If I remember correctly r/piracy did this once in fear of the sub being delete by reddit itself because of legal issues.
Reddit probably has backups if that happens, but still..

Sleep timer: stops media when the timer runs out.

I'm lost here, why would you need a VPN running all the time?

It says 4.3 on android for me

Agreed! Found some bad apples here and there lately, but in general people are nicer and more civil.

A must have on apps to be able to block/filter instances

Wtf is this a thing now too? Jesus

Ayooo 👋

I think in general is quite effective against instances prone to trolls or bots.

Bit off topic, but I love this video lmao

I wouldn't rely too much on lemmy for news and politics tbh, because posts can sway on way or another or even not get traction because most people don't agree with it. Instead I think it's better something like a RSS feed where you can pick your sources, or maybe just check a couple of less biased news outlets, so you can somehow have a more broad overview of what's going from different perspectives.

If you're on android, connect has the ability to filter whole instances.

You could have said all of that without being an asshole about it.

Phones can have its usage restricted in school during classes and activities so students (hopefully) pay attention. Outside these ours when studying in their own, they can use it the way you mentioned in their aid with topics they need help with.

Same thing was happening to me, tried again after a couple of days and it just logged in without asking anything 🤷‍♂️

Very big nutty lmao
