Having played in one of the first tests, it's far from Sea of Thieves. 1 man controls the entire ship, opposed to a crew controlling 1 aspect of the ship at a time.
And it got boring very very fast.
I saw a little gameplay footage and it looked like just the sailing part of Black Flag, nothing else and no new features to make it more in depth.
