I’m currently engaging with Ascension, as a free to play viewer. I couldn’t imagine spending money on this project.
That said what ever large scale choices they make needs to not be a live service for gods sake.
It's Konami, everything good they've done the last decade has been despite it being Konami, not because of.
Konami has a tendency of taking the slightest amount of positive reaction as an excuse to immediately go ahead and try to squeeze out more, so this after their seemingly promising return to Silent Hill has me worried.
Was it ever different with Konami?
I watched some video on the Castlevania franchise a while ago and the amount of corporate fuckery even early on made it sound like a miracle there were some pretty good games among them, even before SotN.
I'm not old enough to have proper awareness of what the industry looked like that far back, but I would not be surprised.
