It may not convert trumpers to biden, but it might also grow more trumpers
Why would he debate someone who is not yet the Republican nominee? He isn’t declining all opportunities to debate up until the election. The only thing that debating him now would accomplish is cementing Trump as the de facto Republican nominee, which is obviously suboptimal.
