About Instagram's "Threads" and people's concerns about privacy
I know that many people are concerned about "Threads" privacy policy and are all screaming "WE WILL BLOCK THREADS". I honestly can't see how it's going to gather any personal information since Lemmy, mastodon etc. doesn't collect any information at all. Like, how can you gather information about user, if he doesn't have any information about himself. Sure, Threads will collect info about its users, that's obvious, but I think it's a bad idea to just block it from the start

Right, so because you personally don't want to communicate with their users, means everyone has to abide by your opinion, because you don't want to spend the 3 seconds to de-federate for yourself only. In order to not inconvenience you, everyone must be de-federated from meta, to save you those 3 seconds, even if some people wanted to communicate with meta, i suppose its too bad for them, they're not important enough, only you are my lord and saviour /u/Monkeyhog.

If they want to communicate with META, they can fucking go to META. Is that too difficult?
