  • Don't heat things in plastic or drink hot liquids that have come into contact with plastic
  • Tap water is better than bottled (even glass bottles); filters will eventually "start to shed because [they] will degrade"
  • Reconsider purchasing or consuming something that uses unnecessary plastic (e.g. a watermelon wrapped in plastic, fruit with a little sticker)
  • Use natural fibres (wool instead of polyester carpets)
  • Avoid plastic flatware, etc., for children
  • Check ingredients and learn what to avoid (PFAS=bad)
  • Vacuum (hoover) regularly --- perhaps buy a robot vacuum
  • Avoid traffic-heavy roads whenever possible

Where I live you cannot get any fruit that doesn’t have the goddamn sticker.

And the organic bananas come in plastic bags?

Highly suggest trying to find farmers markets where farmers bring their produce directly. That won't have stickers on them. Plus it's great to support local small businesses.

Try living in the frozen tundra that is Canada. Farmers markets only really run May to November, and a third of that is arugula season. The rest is plastic-wrapped-in-plastic 😢
