Yeah, I doubt the "live for free in the metaverse" part. If there even will be a real usable metaverse, it won't be free.
We currently have more than enough production and "wealth" for the entire planet to be a "post scarcity society". The only problem that remains is that we don't treat the people that hoard wealth the same way we treat the people that hoard cats or newspaper.
