Feels like yet another article that just makes you want to get upset with another group of people.

I don't take that so serious, for me it's hilarious :-)

yeah in general of all the international banter, food banter seems like the most harmless, most funny, and generally least mean-spirited of the lot

I’d say that that applies to regional foods as well with barbecue being the notable exception. The BBQ wars are still being fought to this day. Everyone knows eastern North Carolina vinegar based pulled pork is the best. Don’t @ me, the state of Texas. Lol

This is must be an argument conducted while talking with your mouth full. “Mwafmuh…Ours is better. Pass the slaw.”

Though I won't turn down any BBQ that tastes good, I am definitely team vinegar base.

Carolina vinegar based pulled pork

Is that related to mustard based bbq? Mustard based is my favorite ♥

As far as I know, mustard based is more or a south carolina thing. The eastern NC bbq sauce is highly controversial from what I've seen online and pretty different to other bbq sauces. Some times it's just apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, and salt/pepper/garlic that's doused on the pulled pork.
