Have just realized right now they are The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy not Hypocrisy.
Doh.
I saw a clip few years ago, where this song was premiered on '120 Minutes' with Henry Rollins as host. He was making fun of the bands name, but thought the song was great... I kinda agree.
Must of taken Henry quite a while to come up with the name for his band :)
Michael Franti was the driving force afaik, a year of two after that he went on to form Spearhead. A less silly name, no amazing tunes but a few albums of nice chilled music.
I got this album a year or two after it came out.

The tune is heavily influenced by The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.

Just checked and surprised to see a new Spearhead tune just dropped, still the same sunny vibes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxJDXEzkRSM&pp=ygUObWljaGFlbCBmcmFudGk%3D
But! If your name is Henry Rollins, naming your band 'Rollins Band' is quite disposable.
I like Franti more as an angry teacher in Disposable Heroes, but I understand you can't be angry your whole life...
So, this track was awesome live in Freo! Angle grinders firing sparks over the front rows of the audience.
You can see the grinders at 2:35 in the video.
