the biggest opposition party has been dangling legalization of same sex unions like a carrot for a while now, and they've had plenty of time to introduce a bill before. it's more likely than with the previous government, of course, but I'd remain skeptical for now. that being said, at least there's some hope we won't be called "rainbow plague" by the government officials anymore.

The nice thing is they'll have to get into a coalition with actual leftists, which means they'll have to come to a compromise somewhere left of their starting position. We've had that for several years in Spain, and while the left has been in a minority, it has influenced a lot of politics.
