Has anyone been able to successfully use Reddit with Tor or a VPN?

In the past when I tried using reddit with tor I have to do about 20 CAPTCHA's and even then the comment/post would still get auto-removed from reddit's filters.

I think I also tried with VPN's and had some success with using reddit with that.

I'm not on Reddit anymore so maybe not applicable. When I was I always used a VPN or TOR. I still get some search results from them though, and that works fine.

I've used Private Internet Access and never had an issue.
