Android 14 experience so far on a non-Google device.

Hi, I just upgraded my Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G to Android 14 via PixelOS (a custom ROM). Best things I like about it is that it's way smoother and faster than Android 13 (PixelOS). I got to experience Pixel specific features as well. I liked AI wallpaper but it takes some time to generate even with 100 Mbps connection. Other than that, it's going great for me. How has been your experience so far?

does PixelOS get the google photos unlimited upload feature as well? I think that's pixel experience?

PixelOS was based on PE before but now it's based on AOSP. Yes, it has unlimited Google Photos storage at original quality.

is it safe? won't google ban users if they find out?

I have been uploading since OG Pixel came out.

I still have my OG pixel XL that I turn on when I need to upload, but having to transfer to it every time is a little cumbersome. My daily driver is also a pixel phone but would be nice if it would just work on its own.

I'll check out Pixel OS. thanks!

You can have the unlimited uploads even in other custom ROMs with Pixelify module if that ROM doesn't have the feature by default.

No we don't get that anymore

I'm already using it lol. Only custom ROM/rooted users can have it.

no I mean the free unlimited google photos plan

Yeah, the plan is not there. But OG Pixel's free backup still works.

Received A14 OneUI 6 on my S23 Ultra. The difference I've noticed narrows down to OneUI changes rather than Android itself. So pretty much it's the same as A13 at least to me.

Predictive back gesture would be awesome if it was universal. But it still is supported in like 3 apps I use, two of which are Google apps anyway.

I use LineageOS, so I'll have to wait until there's a new version based on Android 14. It has some pretty cool looking stuff tho, like the changes they made to the back gesture. Definitely excited for it.
