It will never cease to amaze me how Pogo can be so right and so wrong at the same time. On one hand, dude clearly hates Trump and everything he stands for. On the other hand? He provides his music to Stephen Crowder, is an overwhelming mysognist and aggressively homophobic going so far as to cheer for the death of us.

In the video, which was filmed in 2016, Bertke addresses why he chose the username “Fagottron” for his YouTube channel. “I’ve always had a very thorough dislike of homosexuals,” he says. “I’ve never liked a grown man acting like a 12-year-old girl. I’ve always found that to be quite disgusting.” The video has since been taken down, though mirrors of it remain on YouTube. He adds that his “subtle” username is a way for him to “express to the world that I view gays as an abomination.” After mentioning that he has “a fairly robust resentment of the gay community,” he goes on to discuss the Pulse massacre, where 49 patrons of a gay nightclub were killed by a man who claimed allegiance to ISIS, in both laudatory and Islamophobic terms. “It’s just fantastic,” he says, fist-pumping. “It amazes me to see the West actually welcoming in a culture through the floodgates that wants gays dead. I think that’s fantastic.” Source

Really hard for me to willingly give this dude any views after the shit he's said.

For a guy who hates gay people, he sure spends a lot of his free time combing through Disney movies.

Not sure what I mean by that other than that it's a very slim Venn diagram cross section... 🤔

Dude there are a lot of straight dudes who are obsessed with Disney and they are way more unhinged than your average homophobe. Have you ever met a Disney person? They're fucking insane.

There's no way this isn't a selfhatling gay man behind those words.

Nope. That's just a hateful straight man. They are way more common than the people who are secretly gay. Some people just want us dead. I've seen so much of it and I am so, so tired.

I know there are many hateful straight men but when I hear someone say something so strongly and dramatically I always wonder.

I guess maybe it's easier for me to try and view him as a tragic story of internalized homophobia than to believe there's really that much needless hate out there. But I guess I shouldn't speculate.

It bugs me a little personally because everytime this line is used it's just pushing the victimization of gay people back onto gay people and saying that it's just the community bashing itself. The responsibility and guilt is pushed. Gay people do not make up that large a percentage of the public for every homophobe to be gay. I'm not saying that's what your consciously doing or anything but it's just how it feels with how pervasive that line is in general pop culture.

I'm sorry, it was definitely not conscious or intended. I've never really thought about it from that angle and I appreciate the perspective. I guess I hadn't considered someone so deeply closeted and in denial as being part of "the community". I'll keep this in mind when the thought occurs to me in the future.
