Is uTorrent still a viable option? Or is there something else you'd recommend?

Avoid uTorrent and use qBittorrent instead (not to be confused with BitTorrent, a client by the same team as uTorrent)

qBittorrent's what I use, Deluge is good unless you're planning on seeding more than a few hundred torrents (like if you're in a private tracker), transmission's good.

Do not use uTorrent. All private trackers have it banned because it misreports and has bad development practices. Further, it has ads.

I'd recommend qBittorrent but there's a bunch out there, the approved clients list to my most active Private Tracker lists Deluge, KTorrent, rtorrent, PicoTorrent, qBittorrent, Synapse, Tixati, Transmission.

I confirm qBittorrent is pretty good, i use it also with Web-UI. U can try also Transmission

uTorrent has bundled a cryptominer with the software in the past, so they are untrustworthy. I'd recommend using qBitTorrent or checking the megathread for other options.

I second this. Used qbit for years and can confirm it's amazing.

uTorrent version 2.2.1 I believe is the last good version of it.

I've used deluge in the past, but transmission's web ui is mint. Super easy to manage everything if I can just login to the webui, as I actively dislike apps.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone! I'll be giving qBitTorrent a try

I would recommend getting a seed box with Monero (seedboxes.cc) and accessing that via wireguard VPN...which seedboxes.cc offers. Easy.
