Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

So, who's seen it and what did you think?

I went to see it the other day and, not having any particular high expectations, was rather pleasantly surprised!

Sure, it's not as good as the first trilogy, but better than the crystal skull (which still was decent imho).

The de-aging was very well done and it had some nice fan service.

Could've toned down the action scenes a bit, they were rather long at times, but I still really enjoyed it. It was a fun movie. :)

I saw it last night on a really big screen, which made it very immersive. The sound, cinematography, and effects were strong. There were only a couple of times that the de-aging was noticeable. I agree that was very well done.

Overall, I thought it was just ok. It won't go down as one of my favorite movies; the plot was too forgettable. For my tastes, there was a bit too much action. It had a bit of the exploration/puzzle-solving feel of the originals but not enough.

I agree on the action part. I wanted more puzzle solving too.

And yeah, it might not leave as much of an imprint as the older ones bu still.. laid back fun. :)

I just finished watching the movie and I thought the pacing of the movie was pretty rough. By the end of the second act I could not wait for it to end; but the Archimedes Ear section was easily my favorite, even though it was after I felt the movie had overstayed its welcome (especially with how repetitive the chase sequences started to feel).

The de-aging left a lot to be desired and I wish Hollywood would go back to casting younger actors that can pull off the mannerisms instead of populating movies and TV with PS3 characters because they're afraid audiences won't connect to new actors.

Overall, it was an enjoyable enough movie, but I probably wouldn't make a point of seeing it again. Having said all that, it is still in my top 5 Indiana Jones movies.

I thought the first half was a bit of a mess, but I really loved the second half. The plot was maybe a little repetitive: the good guys make a breakthrough, the bad guys catch up and ruin everything, the good guys escape, repeat. And on the topic of repetitiveness, I could have done with one fewer car chase scene. But overall, the ending was so much fun that it redeemed any other flaws, and I certainly enjoyed it!
