This summer has seen record-breaking heat waves, floods, and wildfires, indicating the start of an unsettling new era of climate change impacts. Ocean waters are also unseasonably warm, likely due to changes in ocean currents and the Gulf Stream. Climate scientists warn that these extreme weather events will only worsen if we do not rapidly transition away from fossil fuels. While news of these events grabs headlines, many people struggle to maintain concern over the long term changes required to address climate change. However, climatologists stress that the choice is ours to either make the problem much worse or rapidly decarbonize our economy and remain within our adaptive capacity.

Sadly, I already know which path we will take. The same one we have been on.

We need to make carbonless energy profitable and lobby (aka bribe) the politicians better than carbon producers.

I don't know how to do that, but I think that's probably the only way to get there.
