Reposting since I figured out how to directly post without the pic going sideways
I haven’t posted many pics, but the couple of times I did, the orientation was wrong. What did you do to get it to not turn it sideways?

So after googling, it seems that some devices store the image’s orientation in something called EXIF metadata and not all software is able to read the metadata.
So I found a quick workaround; I uploaded to imgur, took a screenshot, and then uploaded and the orientation was correct. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm curious if I took a screenshot of the actual picture if it would net the same results.

I hope it’s something that lemmy can figure out so we don’t have to do questions like this. I bet it’ll get easier in time.
