So true 😞...

And then she comes back and says "yeah, we're out" and you're like "yessssss, see that b*tch, I knew it!".

Damn, that's way off from "your refregirator is running, better go catch it".

Matrix. I've watched the trilogy god knows how many times, I still find it entertaining.

You might wanna log out and readd your accounts, most instances changed the login cookie secret after the attack yesterday, so now the old cookies don't work any more.

Not having suggestion algos and customized feeds can sometimes be a good thing.

Lemmy fires just the right synapses... at least for me. Reddit was becomming more like "scroll, scroll scroll, oh here's something interesting... no, it's not that interesting... scroll, scroll, scroll".

Security through obscurity is never a good thing, this has been proven many times over.

Basically, both models have been set to the test years after years, open source software always wins in regards of security over closed source solutions. Security holes are patched faster, and in most cases, way before they're even exploited.

Other benefits are... well, you can change it however you like... or pay someone to change it (not so uncommon as some might think).

Some of the feed types are broken, devs are working on the issues one bug at a time. Currently, they're aiming for stability, rather than usability, but those fixes will eventually get merged in the BE as well.

Quick question, what kind of a name is Elon, it sounds like something taken from a white appliances brand.

"Trust us, once you try the Elon 4000, you won't be able to live without it!"

Meeh, I visit it cuz of the NSFW subs, but that's about it.

The know large instances might defederate from them, that's why the NDAs.

Eventually, Meta will do to the fediverse what Google did to XMPP. I hope I'm proven wrong.

Really? I've never been on a motor boat, I wouldn't know.

At least that explains why I couldn't find logic behind the slang.

How much old tech they actually have... like rooms of it... most of it is kept for spare parts.

You don't like lemmy.ml? Join another instance,I really don't see what all the fuss is about 🤷.

Boobs aren't cool any more? When did boobs stopped being cool?

When your village is full of beauteful masculine men and the Spartans decided to concer conquer it.

I've been saying that for years, but everyone said I was nuts. You can't solve anything im capitalism. If money and consumerism are your only goals, that can't solve anything. Best you can do is patch... and that's about it. There is no money in long term solutions.

Oracle does a have a point though, they did release ZFS and BTRFS as open source projects. Granted, RH has done the same with other software packages, but not something as important as a FS. ZFS was a finished product, BTRFS not so much, but still, these 2 are greatly valued in the open source community.

Not siding with Oracle, I don't like them one bit, but facts are facts 🤷.

You're not a niche Lemmy celebrity!

Bring back baggy pants... cuz stretch jeans are not for men, period.

Yep, using it as a daily driver for a long long time. It's perfect for my needs and I just love the not-so-cutting edge approach, breaks a lot less than Arch does.

I count 1 male.

Leila. I just love it. It's so feminine. I'll name my daughter that if I ever have a daughter.

What? I have to fuckin' cook it? I'm never ordering that. I went to a restaurant NOT to cook. If I wanted to cook, I would've stayed at home.

It's actually fat with electricity inside... maybe yours has more meat than fat 🤷.

When people expect to get A LOT for very little, this is to be expected 🤷.

Buy a second hand HP 1100 1200, 1300, 4200, they'll last you a life time, but... nobody listens 🤷.

You don't actually downvote anything on reddit, only here on Lemmy, lol :D. Those are just reposts of stuff already on reddit, but nothing done here actually reflects anything on reddit.

Sexual kinks

My son right there... to be fair, he's a toddler.

That's what you get when you suddenly switch from imperial to metric 🤷. It's a bit more "tidier" (from what I know) in the US. They started putting up distance signs with both miles and km in some states, so people get a general idea of how they correlate to each other... which is good I guess. I mean, most of the world has a general idea how to convert a mile to a km (it's 1.6, but I use 1.5 to get a general ballpark figure), while only military personnel over there have an idea of how much of a distance a km is.

They still measure weight about anything flesh or food related in pounds though.

That might work on paper, but not in reality.

Look, capitalism was also a great idea on paper, no doubt there... how things panned out, that's an entirely different story.

What happened to it?

I tried it, but it's nothing special to be honest... I can find and download all of those just by searching google or any other search engine.

Yeah, I do New all the time, don't know why people don't recommend that option more often 🤷.

They may wanna know when you plan on dying... I mean, it is possibility... so, you know, they could warn you.

It's fine, I mean, nobody is making money per user here, so even if the don't come, hey, more space for us I guess, lol.

There are no awards here. Upvotes, downvotes, yes, but no awards.

Regarding the search, it's a bit more complicated than just searching on google site:fediverse.com. The content you're looking for could be on any instance (server), so it's best to have a Lemmy account and use the search feature on the web UI to find what you're looking for. Google still isn't trained to search on the fediverse.
