The northern most part of Brazil is closer to Canada than it is to the southern most part of Brazil.

I still visit reddit maybe once a day for 10 minutes for niche subs or communities that aren't built up here. If those communities develop here, I will fully cut out reddit.

Edit: also when noting that I use Lemmy amount 90% of the time now, but my overall usage of Lemmy/reddit has gone down. Probably for the better, because I started reading again.

All of this PR probably could have been fixed very easily if they gave a 6 months notice and were going to charge a reasonable fee. I would have paid 3rd party a small fee to use their app to not see ads, but spez had other IPO plans.

I paid for the sync app on Reddit back when it was like $2 or 5. I'm not paying $99 to remove ads. I know there are dev costs, but there aren't any API costs here right?

I'll still use Sync here until I see what Boost brings over it's released.

Fully agree. I'm cautiously going to assume (they have 2000 employees) that they did enough analysis to assume that they would come out of this on the right side. The problem is, they didn't expect spez to be a complete jack off and Apollo to release info that this whole thing was bullshit.

I can't find anything on kbin, but lemmy has that feature. I can't wait for app support here.

Does the connect app have comment navigation to jump to parent comments? I couldn't find it for weeks and I'm now using sync because it's so polished.

Did you FIRE and calculate wrong or had a bad few economic years?

I didn't read the article, just the headline, but both can be true. They lost money but made a ton again. It's no different than someone losing a huge amount in a 401k but then having even more money in the future by not selling and the market going back up.

Yep same here! Still check reddit for certain things but dropped it significantly and started reading again.

I was on Jerboa for a few days when I first came over, then jumped to thunder and Liftoff. The new update for Jerboa is awesome and I'm using it exclusively until Boost or Sync.

Slowly? I paid $80 for an annual plan last year. If it's $14/month, it'll be 170.

I have both Lemmy and I kbin since the blackouts. I still check reddit on occasion for some major news or subs I visited, but it's probably only 10% of what I used to.

Accidentally ate a ton of edibles?

In fact, I am you. What are we reading? I just finished 7 1/2 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and Project Hail Mary.

I fully agree. I went a few weeks without reddit but decided I don't need to be some noble reddit crusader. I downloaded the reddit app yesterday to visit once a day to check some major subs that I enjoyed and aren't developed here (fantasy football, bourbon, etc). I still spend 90% of my time here, less than 5 or 10 minutes a day on reddit.

Source on the first world countries being down for years?

I assume Sync will be my go-to, but I'm going to give Artemis a try once it's released. Currently using Connect, I just really miss some key features like swiping and jumping to top comments.

Man that would be something. VP, then two consecutive terms at president.

Is that available yet, or he's developing it? Or you have to pay ultra?

Edit: nevermind, found it on the sidebar not under settings.

Doesn't the insurance have an onus in understanding of cost of repairs to vehicles they cover? How can they only offer$1600?

Also, I thought Tesla and others were also looking at these unibody designs for manufacturing purposes.

I'm not saying that they don't love the community, but it was probably also a lucrative opportunity for the developers too. I bought paid versions of a few, and found Boost to be my favorite. I wish they would head over here because people would definitely support them.

I bought some really nice watch off Temu for $12 and it lasts days. I didn't know if id wear a smartwatch, so i started with that. It's lasts probably 5-7days. I've heard a lot of great reviews on garmins compared to Samsung, pixel, etc. I don't care about all the fancy stuff, just want the time, steps, and texts.

I mean,it's only a dollar. In general, tipping culture is our of control but I'm fine with nominal fees for local places. I know during covid, Chinese restaurants closed for awhile around us.
