The rockets are fine. SpaceX has a team specifically designed to distract Musk and keep him away from the actual work on the rockets. Tesla didn't have that though. That's how we ended up with that lame presentation with the weird "S3XY" acromin. That was really the point I realized that he was just an idiot frat boy with too much money. He really is his own worst enemy.

Neither are correct for a work email. If you want to say "for fuck's sakes", instead say "as per our earlier discussion".

Always remember...layoffs come in 2 waves. The first wave is involuntary. The second wave is voluntary, as the people with talent see the handwriting on the wall and jump ship.

The service charge is not a tip or gratuity, and is an added fee controlled by the restaurant that helps subsidize the staff wages so that management doesn't have to while still seeming to have reasonable prices on the menu. Also, management takes a cut as it subsidizes their wages too.

Edit: I get why this upsets some people, but the downvote button is not a disagree button. I merely restated the restaurant's explanation in plain language. I'm not agreeing with it...

As proven long ago, Fox News is not news, it's all editorials. Every last person on the air is a pundit, there are no reporters. They don't report the news, they report their opinions on the news. That's why they have a "psychic" on one of their shows, to provide an opinion on what's going to happen. It's all just for show...

Save some trouble and go with POE. A little more expense to setup, but you only have to run one wire and everything is permanently hardwired.

Always remember...if someone tells you something is worthless, but they still want it, it ain't worthless...

He basically did what anyone else would do if they have an unexpected visit and no food in the house.

And this would be understandable if he were a middle class housewife. But this is the US president, during a shutdown caused by Trump. There should have been any number of restaurants that would have dropped everything to fill an order for the White House. This entire episode was just an embarrassment.

We're not the ones resorting to this ableist bullshit, they are. They are the ones wearing diapers and making a mockery out of it. We criticize them for making a mockery out of it simply to emulated someone that makes a mockery out of everything. Do we need to remind everyone of Trump mocking a disabled person on live TV?

Yes, I agree, fuck that noise. But we're not the ones making that noise.

That wasn't on purpose, that's literally all that was available on the 80s. When I picked my first set, there were only 3 options...those, the black framed nerd glasses with the white band in the middle at a time when Revenge Of The Nerds was a recent movie, or the giant rose colored plastic framed women's glasses. I didn't want to looked like a serial killer, but it was better than the alternatives.

People don't get upset about saying the date in whatever format. They get upset when you write it in that format without specifying, so that you don't know if 07/04/1776 is July 4th or April 7th.

I think this is a huge part of it. Occasionally I'll surf Facebook after checking out the marketplace. Last night I saw tons of posts about that "Try that in a small town" song with tons of people claiming to support it. Just post after post of people saying they don't see anything racist about it at all, and not a single one pointing out how showing videos of the BLM protests while singing "we take care of our own, try that in a small town" miiiiiiiight just be a little bit racist. Fortunately I usually only click on cat videos and the rare left leaning recommended posts, so I got to see one post with a picture of John Cougar Mellencamp saying something like "I sang about my small town without mentioning violence." The post had hundreds of comments....all deleted by admins.

Even when you try to avoid the controversy and hateful comments, the system is still designed to keep you doomscrolling. Positivity doesn't help that...

Extremely well, apparently.

They already know the pay. If the pay isn't enough without the tip, then maybe they should consider getting a different job.

First of all, if you're going to buy a fancy expensive non-stick pan, spend the money and buy non-metal utensils to use with it.

Second, if you want to keep using metal utensils, buy anodized aluminum. It's not perfectly non-stick, but it's close and it can take a beating.

In fact, they’re limiting colour options now and the canvas is smaller.

You only need black and white in a small space to spell out "fuck spez".

Funny...I'm the exact opposite. I don't want it to detect that I’ve entered the room and set the lights to the appropriate scene automatically. Unless it can detect when I don't want to go into a dark room and be blinded by lights I didn't want on, I want to control when it turns on. Unless it can determine that I'm only home from work for a few minutes to go to the bathroom, I don't want it to adjust the heat settings. In other words, until it can actually read my mind, I want to be able to control it and tell it what I want when I actually want it.

I'm looking into an HA setup specifically to get away from Alexa and host everything locally. I may only want simple controls, but I want to truly control everything myself.

if they never have had to do chores as kids, how can you expect them to start at 40?

Because they are 40 goddamn years old, that's how. Sure, you can blame your parents for your upbringing. But at a certain point, you need to start taking responsibility for that shit. Your parents can't fix you at 40, only you can do that. And if you can't figure that out, that's on you. Not your parents.

There comes a time you grow the fuck up and take responsibility for your own life.

While that may be true, this is still likely an automated response built by a script that found some keywords on your profile. I still get the occasional proposition for RPG work, and I haven't touched an AS/400 in over a 20 years which my profile reflects. I haven't even touched my profile in years. But the script doesn't care about that. That's for the HR rep to filter out later if you respond.

And here is an example of a Priority 4, Severity 4 bug, and the average time it takes to fix such bugs.

It's not about profitability. It's about the extraordinary expense to discourage at best a minor misdemeanor that costs relatively very little in comparison. You could probably achieve the same effect paying one cop to monitor random stations and fine people as the do it. There are much more important things that cops could be doing that's actually worth spending $150 million. Or you could just divert a fraction of that money to subsidize public transit.
