Good for you though, that was a satisfying read.

I swear I'd buy tickets to anything if the sellers tagine was "we're not ticketmaster/livenation"

Wonder if we could somehow plan for them to grow in straight?

Its Iceland-> Ireland but working its way through the alphabet for the second letter, so d,e,f,g,h... etc.

This is clearly an impersonator, trump would never use the word United

Exactly how do you 'nudge' someone with a cart? Is talking to them loudly or reaching down and touching a shoulder really that impossible? (god forbid you choose to go around them, the inconvenience!)

Kiss and ride?

Well to be fair one was found guilty in a court of law and the other (I don't believe but feel free to correct me) didn't even have a criminal case brought against him.

Well if you share it here maybe people will join :)

Makes it funnier

Hahaha bananabrine, great description

Way easier than expected. I used to spend hours mindlessly scrolling on reddit, occasionally learning something useful but that was the exception. I suffer from anxiety so I genuinely had concerns about quitting reddit, but also recognised it was an unhealthy way to spend so much free time. I left on the first day of the protests and haven't been back since. Was honestly surprised and impressed at myself for managing it so easily (rediscovered my love of crosswords and my kindle). Joined Lemmy 2 days ago, so still finding my feet but so far it scratches that itch of keeping a little bit in-the-loop with pop culture. (But with time limits firmly on this time!)

That was a difficult up vote because my thumb was just so disgusted with your sister

Legit thought this was a bad joke about people mixing up AI (Artificial Intelligence) with Al Yankovic!

How do we know that's not what happened to Trump?

Return to office

I like the work Hard for yourself statement. As a 43 year old woman possibly dealing with a serious health issue (waiting on results) I wish I had worked harder for myself on prioritising my health over my work. Far too easy to put off dr appointments/dentist appointments/smears etc by rationalising that you can't miss that meeting.

The last time this was posted there was examples of some shops missing the labels. I don't think if it was ever confirmed if the shop the woman visited was displaying the label or not.

Scotland - you'll get a pot of brewed tea or a cup with a black tea bag in. And some milk.

Looks like I'm switching out my mimosas for prosecco straight from the bottle

That's what's being reported

Same. I am happy using discord or family/friend group chats to keep up with them, but I need a 'town square' where I can go and learn what events are on nearby, what restaurants are doing special nights etc. But I don't want that town square to sell me ads, I just want to look at the notice board and see what new stuff takes my fancy. So how do we connect the consumers to the businesses without having an overlord who will try to sell things to the consumers by charging the businesses?

It's like reading my brain :(

That was a satisfying, then infuriating story. Thank you!

Could you do these as regular posts? It was the perfect length and relevance to help me feel up to speed on all the cases!

Doesn't seem there's a tool available for breaking laminated glass. Which is also terrifying but I do understand why the DOT mandated the switch.

I dont do dressings. What do you call 15 ingredients and no dressing? A fryless stir fry? Genuinely curious if there's a word now!

Dead to me starts off as if it's going to be dark but is actually pretty lighthearted

My library has it thanks!!

I heard that's a recent back story and not the true origin, which is still unknown

Return to oz is decent enough!

I have a problem with your ridiculously vague statement of

The bottom line is bad people exist and should be killed

What makes a bad person? That they committed a crime (which crime, how bad is bad), that they show no remorse, that they are incapable of change (were they born evil or a victim of circumstance)?

You only have to look at how quickly decisions of law are changing (roe v wade for better or worse, definitely worse) to realise deciding on life ending 'justice' based on a human court of due process (where even confessing can be flawed) is fundamentally flawed.

How does it impact your day to day if we choose to incarcerate them instead?

But also, a little extra compassion in life would do you zero harm.

Split pea

How did you react the first time it happened? Was it your first time seeing a dead person ?
