Its Iceland-> Ireland but working its way through the alphabet for the second letter, so d,e,f,g,h... etc.

It's like saying Austria and Australia have similar names you but just gotta change the letters a bit.

Youre overthinking it. Thats the joke. Its funny because its a silly proposal of how it got named

To be fair, the oz version does appear to have potential

But using us abbreviated state names...
