Big companie/rich people - absolutely
Small businesses/regular folks - nah
Growing up in Eastern Europe I had a romanticised picture of USA and I always wished I grew up there.
Only until years later I realised how privileged I was not having to worry about the student debt, medical insurance and gun violence...
Correct answer is sitting.
Three scenarios:
No legs folded - standing
Rear legs folded - sitting
All legs folded - laying down
Something went extremely wrong
DON'T do what I've done a couple of weeks ago - landed me my first HR meeting ever :D
I had to use my coworkers (lady around 50, not too clever with the computers) computer on remote desktop. As I was about to close it, I thought to myself "Perfect setup for a joke". On her computer, I went to https://pranx.com/hacker/ and put in on full screen. Literally like 30s later, our IT guy (he's in the same room as me) get a phone call and all I can hear is shouting in the earpiece. I say to him don't worry, I know what's this about, I'm going to sort it out. I went downstairs and boss's wife is running past shouting that we need to phone the police, I walk into the lady's room and she's hysteric. I say cool down, it's a joke.
Safe to say, they were not laughing (probably the fact that I still was, wasn't helping my case :D)
Some say he is held against his will in The European Organization for Nuclear Research in Switzerland, commonly known as CERN. Apparently, his sacrifice made a a giant leap in the field of Condensed Dark Matter.
Human Right activists are fighting for his immediate release, both from the imprisonment and for his bowels.
It's not app specific - that's just how the Lemmy code works at the moment.
For this specific reason, Lemmy integrated search feature is fundamentally broken at the moment, so you should be using https://lemmyverse.net/
When I first joined my instance I couldn't see any Xbox communities so I created one. It got a little following, but then I found out there were already two communities literally called Xbox but no one from my instance joined before, so I couldn't see them.
They just outted themselves accessing some shady stuff :D
That's a great rule "three before me" - worth noting down!
Wow that's great! I don't see myself needing something like this, but it's a cool tech nonetheless! Great job!
It truly is!
Terraria is great! Also kudos to Re-Logic for supporting the industry!
So what's up with this novel? Can't find anything obvious about it - only that it's mighty popular among conservatives (which is usually a red flag)
I had a similar issue and two things helped.
You wouldn't believe how much it changed my life. I used to be extremely nervous about going out 1v1 even with my close friends, out of fear of "What are we going to talk about?""What if there is going to be an awkward silence" etc. Now I thrive and I love hearing from people, what's new in their lives and so on. And I noticed people like to talk to me a lot more too!
Just be respectful, wait for your time when called upon and enjoy the conversation. You know your opinions - by saying them out loud you just repeat what you already know. It's time to find out what other people are thinking :)
What is it and why?
I get that it was delivered with bugs and server issues. I get that it wasn't what was promised to the players. But being toxic to the devs? Fucking get a grip. You don't like it? Get a refund. And probably don't preorder in the future.
Last time I researched this, I came to the following conclusions:
Everybody bringing their pet in a corporate environment with lots of employees sounds like a nightmare. But I work at a small company and one of my colleagues used to bring their sausage dog to work, and everyone loved it
Not 100% true. Some people are more egocentric, like us, but they never look out for any other way of being. These people, will talk and talk and talk for hours, unprompted. Nobody asks them, because they will talk anyway.
You, my friend, made a step forward to becoming a better conversationalist. You asked us for our opinion. Make a change if you feel it will make a positive impact on your life. Observe how your family and friends respond :)
Start small!
Appropriate
Hahaha really smart
It's very early days of Lemmy so there is a lot to sort out but the community is great 😃
A conspiracy theory that only works for people with no mates...

Make sure there is no community like the one you want to make through lemmyverse.net
Thanks for you answers so far.
My point is, she is still mentally there (I think) so if she wants one of those subscription buttons, she can 100% get it herself.
I was just thinking, as an extra layer of security, if I'm in the area to help out.
Thank you :)
We are not even that close, we have a casual chat once in a blue moon and she is very nice. I just want to make sure she can get help when she needs it.
I 100% agree with you.
But the problem is the bigger crowd in my opinion. It seems no matter how hard they push or try to ruin something good (the people in charge of said services) the crowd/community is still willing to forgive and forget in the name of convenience and because of laziness.
No matter how much Elon Musk tries, Twitter persevere and seems to be doing just fine (if you look at stock prices over time it's actually really solid)
Question is, did they lower the projector to a groin level or did he stand on a stool to test it out.
See now that you said that, I think the whole thing might have been intentional - to piss off the users and see what's the backlash. If you think of it as an experiment before going public. The whole operation was heavy relying on the users, the content they create and content they moderate - so a lot of the things that they have going on for them is effectively out of their hands. NOW that they did their little coup d'état by replacing the unruly moderators with their own people, they can present their company to the future investors as a lot more stable and future proof for the business. Because let's be honest, the vast majority of people will stay on reddit - only the moderation will change. So they will retain the creators, but will have more control over it.
It's probably impossible to put money on the loss that they made because it's probably mostly company's image that took a hit, but still, even that, I don't think there is a lot of damage done. I reckon it's all temporary and in a month or two it will be business as usual - maybe with a couple of thousands users less which is negligible. I think a lot of people that moved to fediverse, as soon as the "new thing" fad will wane, will move back to reddit for it's convenience and amount of content.
In my experience, old age only amplifies person's traits - if you were nice, you are going to be extra nice because of all the stress leaving your day to day. If you were a cunt, you are going to be extra cunty because now you will be blaming people left and right for all the errors in your life. That's my experience though.
