Yes, every video you download or stream is actually compressed quite a lot, the bitrate just determines how much compression is applied. Higher bitrate means the file is bigger and less compression is done, while low bitrate means the video has a lot less bits to store all that data and so has to do more compression.

I switched to NixOS almost two years ago, and it's really nice being able to define my whole system in a single set of config files. If my hard drive dies or I switch computers, I can just reinstall NixOS using my config files and everything will be set up the exact same way. It's extremely solid and I don't need to baby my system because if it breaks I can just reinstall everything back to normal.

And I can share parts of the config between devices, so when I change my Neovim or VSCodium configs using Home-Manager it gets synced to my other devices, as well as being saved as part of my NixOS config files.

Wayland all the way, 120 hz Freesync monitor with 60 hz second monitor works perfectly on KDE Plasma with AMD. No fussing about with X11 configs or worrying about if the compositor is active or not, it just works.

You mean... a prompt that needs a second click to run the program?

Saved this post waiting for a random Lemming to write a seven paragraph essay about Roman engineering.

If you're looking for a similar type of game, I played GRIS recently which reminded me quite a bit of this.

Syncthing, which syncs my files between my phone and computer. I can rip a music CD on my computer and it's instantly sent to my phone so I can listen to it on the bus or wherever.

How do I remove a post from my feed and from my brain?

Sounds like Muzicbrains Picard should work, it scans the actual sound data and matches it with that song's metadata. For manual adjustments I use kid3qt.

That's it I'm unsubscribing

I've heard he sold some stock but it was like a recurring sell-this-much-every-this-often type of thing so it wasn't out of the ordinary is what I heard.

I've been using Lapce for a bit and it's pretty cool, like VSCode but written in Rust. It's actually so much faster, like you press a key and there's instantly autocomplete suggestions and error warnings, so it feels a lot more responsive than VSCode. It also opens faster. There's still a couple weird things and missing functionality though because it's early in development so I'll probably go back to VSCode for now.

Steam Controller 😭

AnySoftKeyboard has beta releases once a week, although idk how well they work. I've been using the stable version for years and I like it (although the autocorrect can be a bit silly sometimes).

UnexpectedKeyboard is the coolest and lets you easily type (what feels like) every single UTF-8 character imaginable lol. The typing feeling isn't as nice and I don't think there's any autocorrect though so I don't use it.

Was into Dogecoin for the meme in high school, haven't touched crypto in years but now I've become too attached to my background to change it.

If you copy the URL of the Mastodon user's profile and paste it into the search bar of your Lemmy instance (you might need to refresh a couple times, and make sure the filter is set to all), then you should be able to view their account on your Lemmy instance and follow or subscribe to them as normal. Then all new posts should automatically sync to your Lemmy instance and show up as a post. I subscribed to a Peertube channel this way and it worked.

I think until the end of the weekend

Hell yeah

Can you change the Do-Not-Disturb settings to what you want? Otherwise you could look at something like Automation.

Username checks out

I believe it's 4chan

You want immutable distros but Silverblue wasn't flexible enough? Why not try NixOS? It's really nice.

I've been using it for two years and I love being able to make changes to my config and having those changes apply to all my computers. It's also basically unbreakable, if my computer explodes I can just reinstall NixOS with my config files and it will instantly be set up exactly how I want it.

I love this meme format

You can try the Dearrow extension, which uses a random or community-suggested frame from the video as the thumbnail. Made by the same person who made SponsorBlock. It can also use community-suggested titles for videos as well.

And the brain has an eyeball...

Your limit goes to infinity???

There's lots of FOSS music players, but none of them have a volume slider / preamp. The Android volume slider is always either too loud or quiet so I have to make fine adjustments using the preamp in JetAudio. If someone could add that to an existing music player that'd be cool.

I quite like Firefox for Android, mainly because I can install UBlock Origin and block ads, which Chrome does not support.

On System Settings’ Night Light page, the time input fields for manual time mode are no longer a nightmare, because they’ve been replaced with a set of spinboxes (Natalie Clarius, Plasma 6.1)

Oh thank goodness, that page has always felt a bit weird.

I played with my friend over Discord and somehow we got matched with each other the first time, so we didn't get to play with strangers or anything. Still was fun though.

There is, it's called Peertube

I would just subscribe to both and then post on whichever is bigger.

You could try OpenTracks, I used it a few years ago and it was pretty good.

FileLight from KDE also works on Windows

There's browser extensions for it

I use OpenScan and it works pretty well. You can also check out alternativeto.net
