Yup the same I had too
Yup the same I had too
I have learned to just accept it and go with the flow. If I get bored and move on, that's fine. If I never go back to the thing I paid a lot of money for, that's fine. Making rules about these things for myself never increased my enjoyment or happiness.
You can't have a space with dimensions if it doesn't exist in spacetime, so the commonplace understanding of nothingness is a space within spacetime that has nothing that we can interact with that's interesting to us. People will say that there is nothing in the desert, but there is lots of stuff there. People will say there is nothing in a room, but there is still air. People will say there is nothing in space but there are still diffuse atoms, gravity, radiation and virtual particles. If your definition of nothingness is that there is a space with dimensions and time that has absolutely nothing in, then yes that does not exist.
Yes. You should be presented with a set of multiple choice questions where the answers are each of the parties stances on the matter and at the end your vote should be divided among the parties based on how you answered the questions.
I think it could be as simple as party x claims they will do thing a, b, c and then after their term in power you assess if they achieved those things. The parties who make the claims will need to back up those claims with real milestones that would become performance indicators of partial or full success. The milestones must be easy to assess and leave no room for interpretation. Just like in a legal contract, if you make the wording too vague and hard to interpret, then your contract won't be enforceable in court.
I guess the pandering people pleasing approaches would overly benefit from this design but it could be more realistic if you showed a percentage next to the answer of the likelihood that the party will follow through with the statement based on their previous claims and achievements. This would make the parties less willing to make false claims or go back on their promises once in power because it would reflect badly in the next election.
Oh man this ones got some flavour to sink ones teeth into 😅
I take the side of the admin. If someone can't accept or understand that a cat eats a meat based diet then they deserve to have reality thrown in their face. Better than some poor animals being tortured.
If I rent something then feel free to offer me upgrades to that rental (like rear heated seats) but if I purchased the product then fuck off its mine and I should be able to do what I want with all of its hardware.
Oh my god! Please violate my rights by not showing me ads! What a boring dystopia...
Welcome to Firefox
Yeah but sucking that much dick is difficult when you don't have the heroin to forget...
Acceptance.
Accept that you are imperfect.
Accept that all humans are imperfect.
Give light apologies out of respect if necessary, but know that you did what you could and it's ok that you failed to do more, so don't take the failure to heart.
Life is short, and living in anxiety takes away your quality of life like a sickness.
If guilt doesn't improve your life, then it needs to be cut out.
Your happiness is more important than someone else getting a prompt answer.
Respect yourself.

Sure, it's likely government has better software than what the public has access to, but not by that much. Some NSA software has leaked before and it's just "good" not mind bending. The best stuff often gets created by university groups collaborating with other universities. Government scavenges from these groups. Their research is published in journals before it reaches classified status. Of course there are some military groups and other directly funded groups but what they make is a small percentage of the best stuff.
You accept that you are in a difficult situation with no great answers.
You focus on being good company for yourself and treating yourself like someone of value. Be kind and understanding to yourself and try to minimize negative self talk.
You open yourself to creating new connections with others, but without preconceived ideas of success or failure.
The server is absofuckinglutely flying today! It feels smooth and bug free!!! You guys are legends.
Saying you can solve the existence of bugs in any code repository reeks of bullshit. Anyone who believes this is possible is just ignorant.
Thats the cool thing about lemmy. We upvote anything. A can of beans is on the all time top posts.
Have a look at manage engine software
Don't use Brave...
Corporations gonna be all corporationy
Top right would make a good condom wrapper
The guy had a friend who admitted to 8 murders and he himself murdered his wife who was the translator for a Russian mail order bride catalogue... Woah. Its hard to believe a person like that could contribute to open source.
How much are they paying you?
Holy shit. I just had this feeling early on to skip the early access. Seems like I made a good choice.
This is an unpopular opinion, but I can understand why you would develop such a viewpoint. You just have to realize that some people cannot function effectively in life and a strong stimulant can be a powerful tool to regain control over a doomed situation. If there were better, safer alternatives, they would be used. But there are not, so we have this situation. It's not like these meds are prescribed by your local drug dealer. There has been a lot of research done by intelligent people.
Neurodivergence doesn't necessarily need to mean mentally ill
If the researchers can guarantee that a summary of the results will be posted here then that will earn this post a pin to the top of the community.
Linux is not even difficult to use and there is no telemetry slowing down the hardware you paid for and feeding some greedy org with your user data. Ubuntu desktop is perfectly fine as a daily driver as long as you don't use it for gaming or windows apps through Wine. Thats when it becomes more complicated and error prone.
You're going to run out of pixels
Debian is the most stable distro and downstream loads of distros rely on Debian being clean. This dev has to be strict if they want to maintain the status quo. Rather let the user DL this as a standalone package and still use it, instead of it being included by default with the possibility of breaking.
And another thing. Version pinning should be normalized. I just can't bend my mind around code which has to be refactored every 12 - 24 months because dependencies were not version pinned and a new thing broke an old thing. Unless this code is your baby and you stare at every day, constantly moving forward, you should write code that lasts.
Putting ads in foss is an irredeemable sin
This is partly a normal human behavior but ADHD people have it worse. Gyms rely on people quitting, thats why a day pass costs so much.
Ad blockers actually work with it and youtube links don't get auto forwarded to the shitty app.
Dude I looked at this for far too long thinking I just missed caffeine and cannabis
This is obviously a disguised snake

Humans are fucking aweful:
As part of an investigation by Heinrich Klüver in the 1930s into the area affected by mescaline, Klüver arranged to have the temporal lobes of a number of rhesus monkeys bilaterally removed by Paul Bucy, a neurosurgeon.
Being the devils advocate here but the quality of my teachers during school was worse than GPT4. They were more biased, made more errors, were more unfair, pushed more extremist views...
